Wanderers unite! Fly around the world at World Travel Expo 2018 at the SMX Convention Center on October 26-28. On the third year of the expo, expect affordable and amazing deals, says JC Baron, spokesman for  World Travel Expo 2018, during an interview at One Esplanade in Pasay City. "There will be sweet tour packages and treats you cannot resist. Also, there will be lots of tour package promos and deals for your next travel destination," says Baron. World Travel Expo aims to be the marketing platform for the travel industry. The event will serve as a channel between the international and national tour operators, airline companies, and travel authorities. 1st Food and Hotel Expo Manila at SMX on Feb.16-18

The 1st Food and Hotel Expo Manila which aims to promote local dishes and destinations will be held at Halls 3 and 4 of SMX in Pasay City on February 16-18. "We hope to promote pagkaing Pilipino sa gathering na ito. Every time nagkakaroon ng hotel and food expo, ano ba yung mga pini-feature? Nag iinvite pa nga ng mga foreign chefs when in fact nalilimutan na yung Filipino food," said JC Baron, spokesman for the Food and Hotel Expo Manila, during an interview at the press launch of the event at the Bayview Hotel in Manila recently. Yapak.ph: Stepping towards the future of Philippine tourism

A one-stop shop portal about the Philippines has been launched to help spread the good news about the country's tourism industry and its wonderful people. Dubbed Yapak.ph, the portal hopes to invite travelers, especially domestic tourists, to check out new places in the country where they can enjoy their activities. "One of the problems in local tourism right now is that the campaign is focused on inviting foreigners here. We forgot about the locals and they are bigger in number," said Diane Zoleta, founder and chief executive of Yapak.ph, during an interview at the launch of the portal at the Manila House Private Members Club at the BGC in Taguig City recently. Online TPB video tilt sets launch at PHITEX on Aug. 31

The Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) will have a soft launch of an online video contest on Aug. 31 which will highlight the reasons for “loving” to travel to any part of the Philippines. Open to both Filipino and foreign participants, the contest dubbed “Phil the Love” is expected to provide the various brand definitions to “It’s More Fun in the Philippines” based on the tourists’ own perspectives and experiences. These are the words of Presidential son Sebastian "Baste" Duterte when asked why he decided to join show business during the launch of his reality TV program "Lakbai" which will air after PBA on TV5 starting May 21. Duterte, the youngest son of President Rodrigo Duterte, said that he never consulted anybody about appearing on national television. "Convince me? They did not convince me. Decision ko lang ito. Hindi ko na mapigilan kaya nag decide na lang ako ko try showbiz. Yun lang talaga yun. If it doesn't work out, uuwi na lang ako sa Davao," said Duterte during the press launch at the Aracama Restaurant at the Fort in Taguig City last Wednesday night.
