Gavin James to perform in Manila on Oct. 4

Gavin James, the Irish singer/songwriter who has opened for the likes of Ed Sheeran in Dublin and Sam Smith in the US, will be in Manila for his first-ever visit to Asia for a show at the New Frontier Theater on October 4. James may not be the major superstar the likes of super famous headliners he has supported on tour yet, but brace yourself; he just might steal your heart away. With a “spell-binding voice and a knack for stadium-sized hooks” as one critic described him, Gavin’s music can easily get into your head and stay there.  His current single, “Always,” has been described as a Coldplay-esque ballad that newfound fans simply adore. K-pop boy band BTS has submitted entries for the 2019 Grammy Awards which will be held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California on Feb. 10. Considered as the highest award in music, the nominations for the 2019 show will be announced on Dec. 5, 2018. BTS has reportedly submitted six entries for their best-selling album "Love Yourself: Tear" and for the song "Fake Love." Entries for “Fake Love” include Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop/Duo Group Performance and Best Music Video.  For “Love Yourself: Tear,” the entries are Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album. It would be recalled that K-pop made history in the American music scene after "Love Yourself: Tear" went to No. 1 on the Billboard music charts for the week ending on June 2. BTS makes history in US music charts

K-pop makes history in the American music scene after the BTS album "Love Yourself: Tear" went to No. 1 on the Billboard music charts for the week ending on June 2. This is the first time that a Korean album finished at the summit of the prestigious music charts since it published its first music hit parade in the US in 1936. Released through BitHit Entertainment on May 18, the album launches with 135,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S. in the week ending May 24, according to Nielsen Music. Of that sum, 100,000 were in traditional album sales, according to Billboard Magazine. BTS has also achieved several firsts with their international success in music. Aside from being the first K-pop album to hit No. 1, it is also the biggest unit and sales week ever for K-Pop, first foreign language No. 1 album since 2006, first World Music Album at No. 1 on Billboard 200, and Second-Biggest Week for A Group in 2018.
