Rachelle Ann Go, Martin Spies are engaged

Filipino Broadway star Rachelle Ann Go is now engaged to American boyfriend Martin Spies. This after Go posted a photo on Instagram which showed Spies proposing to her in Boracay Island. "I  just prayed for this on my 31st birthday and just like that this happened. What an amazing God we have. Thank you Father God for this man. A man who loves you first. I still cannot believe this!!!aahhh!" said Go, in a caption on IG. Go turned 31 last August 31. Spies is a business executive based in New York City who is affiliated with American luxury fitness company Equinox. Previously, the Filipino-Chinese singer was in a relationship with "Pinoy Big Brother" winner Slater Young. They reportedly split in 2014. Broadway star Lea Salonga has criticized local celebrities who still lack professionalism and those who are being "coddled, catered to or indulged" by major movie outfits or television networks. Salonga made the comment on her Facebook after she had brunch with some of her friends. However, the popular OPM artist, who is currently one of the mentors for "The Voice Teens," did not identify the unprofessional stars. Eva Noblezada receives Tony nom for 'Miss Saigon'

Another Filipino talent has been nominated in this year's Tony Awards which will take place at the Radio City Music Hall in New York City on June 11. Filipino-American Eva Noblezada, 21, earned a nomination for Best Performance by An Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical for playing the role of Kim in the revival of the hit musical "Miss Saigon." Now one of the longest-running musicals on Broadway, "Miss Saigon" tells the tragic story of an Asian woman left by her American lover.
