The One 690 Entertainment Bar: Bolder, wiser, & sexier in 2019

The One 690 Entertainment Bar at 39 Roces Avenue in Quezon City is old school gay bar no more. It is bolder, wiser, and sexier in 2019!

This was revealed by successful businessman and Mr. Gay World-Philippines 2009 Wilbert Tolentino during the relaunch on the evolution of entertainment bar which was highlighted by fabulous 24 production numbers he conceptualized.

"We've leveled up! The One 690 is a fun place that's perfect for the millennials!" says Tolentino in an interview at his popular entertainment bar.

Would you believe that more and more women are going to his entertainment bar these days?

“Our regular Girls Night Out which is trending among female millennials. We also have many bookings of bridal shower parties!" Tolentino said.

He added: “Open-minded na ang society ngayon compared noong 70s 80s and 90s na henerasyon. Kaya ginamit namin ang tagline na 'Quality Male Entertainment.' Old school gay bar' no more!"


Since 1972, Club 690’s entertainment has been showcasing quality diversion and recreation. Those were the days when curfew hours were strictly imposed. "That time women were not yet allowed to enter the club."

Founded by Boy Fernandez and managed by Raoul Barbosa, the entertainment club closed temporarily until Tolentino opened it again with co-owner/manager Genesis Gallios. The two partners also conceptualized the themes of the production numbers.

Tolentino said: “At ang trivia, since 2004 binigyan ako ng basbas na ipagpatuloy ang 690 ni Boy Fernandez dahil nakita niya ang passion ko sa entertainment industry. And the rest is history!”


Since then women have started to patronize the entertainment bar and other clubs with similar theme. At present, the club is no longer a strict venue for gays. "The One 690 is now open to all genders, people from all walks of life."

The awesome Las Vegas-type production numbers and amazing costumes have been praised and enjoyed by everyone.

The One 690 features Las Vegas-type shows and numbers that are comparable to Broadway in New York; and Moulin Rouge in Paris, France.


"Of course, the hunky and good-looking male models are still our main attractions. The entertainment bar business has definitely evolved and in tune with the times,” says Tolentino.

There's no stopping Tolentino. He will put up more establishments that will cater to the general public and will surely add glitter to entertainment in 2019.

From underground to mainstream, the gay bar industry is indeed becoming more open and welcoming to the public. Aside from The One 690, Tolentino also owns Apollo World-Class Male Entertainment and KTV Bar at 717-B Roxas Boulevard in Baclaran, Paranaque City.


Known as “The club that started it all" in the Philippines, The One 690 Entertainment Bar is the very first gay entertainment bar to have a billboard on Edsa and other major routes. It is open daily.
