MWP acquires Miss Supranational franchise

The Miss World Philippines (MWP) organization announced its acquisition of the Miss Supranational title. This latest addition makes the Miss Supranational one of the biggest and coveted titles in the Miss World Philippines organization’s roster, which currently includes: Reina Hispanoamericana, Miss Eco International, Miss Eco Teen International, Miss Multinational, and Miss Philippines Tourism. It's confirmed! Three showbiz personalities have enlisted for screening in Miss World Philippines 2019 beauty pageant. Screening for the official candidates is on-going until Aug. 4 but the showbiz personalities who submitted their application forms were Michelle Dee, Kelley Day, and Isabelle de Leon. Michelle Dee is the daughter of former Miss International Melanie Marquez and Derek Dee.  Pageant fans have encouraged her to join pageants for few years now because of her morena looks and good background. During an interview in 2017, Melanie  encouraged her daughter to compete in Bb. Pilipinas beauty pageant. But things have changed and Michelle decided to screen for Miss World Philippines 2019. This after three showbiz personalities enlisted for the screening of Miss World Philippines 2019 beauty pageant. Now under the helm of talent manager Arnold Vegafria, the past years saw upcoming movie and television stars screened for the Miss World Philippines contest and successfully made it. Actress Megan Lynne Young represented the Philippines in Miss World 2013 and went on to become the first Filipina to win the elusive blue crown. Actress Teresita 'Winwyn" Marquez, daughter of showbiz personalities Alma Moreno and Joey Marquez, notched the country's first Reina Hispanoamericana crown in Bolivia in 2017. Singer ready for Landslide Walk in Miss Multinational

An 18-year-old singer and ice hockey enthusiast will aim for a back-to-back win at the Miss Multinational pageant which will be held in India on January 21. Filipino-Canadian Kimi Mugford, the youngest among the current batch of winners of Miss World Philippines, said that she is not pressured at all to compete in the pageant because she has replaced pressure with excitement. "I've always replaced pressure with enthusiasm and the motivations to keep me going to vie for the crown. So that's how I have been dealing with pressure," said Mugford. 40 girls vie for Miss World Philippines 2018 beauty contest

Organizers of the Miss World Philippines beauty pageant announced on Wednesday, August 15, the 37 official candidates who will compete in the prestigious contest in September. But fashion designer Bessie Besana, general manager of Miss World Philippines Organization (MWPO), says three more candidates will complete the final 40 girls who will join the pageant. "Please wait for our official announcement," says Besana when asked about the three remaining candidates. He did not say when the official announcement will be made. Glyssa Perez finished First Princess at the 2017 Miss World Philippines beauty contest but she is not ready to give up her dreams on pageants. "Yes! I'm joining Miss World Philippines again next year," said Perez when asked if she will compete again in the pageant, during an exclusive interview in Timog, Quezon City recently. Asked why Miss World again, Perez said: "I always have the heart to serve the community. Back in Australia, I was very active in the Philippine-Australian community so that ignited my passion. The Philippines captured its first pageant title this year after a Cebuana beauty queen was crowned Miss Eco International 2018 during a contest held in Egypt last Friday (Saturday morning Manila time). Cynthia Thomalla bested 51 other candidates in the international pageant that focuses on humanitarian, social and environmental issues. Thomalla, 22, is the last of four beauty queens who competed abroad under the Miss World Philippines franchise owned by Arnold Vegafria, business manager of Senator Manny Pacquiao. Other reigning beauty queens under Miss World Philippines who won titles were Teresita Marquez, Reina Hispamoamericana; and Sophia Senoron, Miss Multinational. Miss Philippines Cynthia Tomalla has called on the people to be environment friendly and be responsible travelers through waste management. "For me, it should be the traveler who should be responsible for their trash. If they're traveling, they should know how to pick up their trash and throw it properly. Everyone should be aware of how to take care of our planet because we only have one planet.
