3 showbiz girls in Miss World PH 2019 screening: Get to know them

It's confirmed! Three showbiz personalities have enlisted for screening in Miss World Philippines 2019 beauty pageant.

Screening for the official candidates is on-going until Aug. 4 but the showbiz personalities who submitted their application forms were Michelle Dee, Kelley Day, and Isabelle de Leon.

Michelle Dee is the daughter of former Miss International Melanie Marquez and Derek Dee. 

Pageant fans have encouraged her to join pageants for few years now because of her morena looks and good background.

During an interview in 2017, Melanie  encouraged her daughter to compete in Bb. Pilipinas beauty pageant.


But things have changed and Michelle decided to screen for Miss World Philippines 2019.

Said Melanie: "She has the looks. She has the x-factor, she has the height (5'11) and she's lady like unlike me who is rebellious."

Melanie also gave successful tips to her daughter who is now one of the popular newcomers in the fashion world.

"Kailangan nyang maging original. Wag syang maging copycat. Hindi ka sisikat kapag copycat ka," the former beauty queen said.


English-Filipino celebrity Kelley Day is one of the stars who is lending her voice for the first Filipino anime series dubbed "Barangay 143" currently being shown on GMA 7 every Sunday morning.

Following her successful stint in anime, this 18-year-old beauty says she might consider pageants in the near future.

"I've been considering it. But I never trained before so maybe I would invest a lot of time. Maybe for a year so that I will get familiar with the industry," says Kelley during an exclusive interview in December 2018.

"I've asked my friends about it. I have friends who are beauty queens and I asked them how it is. It's a completely different world. When I was 18, and I came here, there was an opportunity for me to train."

Kelley says: "But I wanted to try modelling and showbiz that's how I started. And I was approached for pageantry. I tried for one class and it felt good. But I decided to join showbiz first."

Born in Dubai, Kelley is a former member of the all-girl dance group GirlTrends for the popular Kapamilya noontime program "It's Showtime." In February 2018, Kelley transferred to GMA Network Artist Center. She has dated actor Inigo Pascual.


Another Kapuso star who screened for Miss World Philippines 2019 is Isabelle De Leon who recently starred in teleseryes Dragon Lady and Magkaibang Mundo.
Her first title role was for the series Munting Anghel in 2000. 
From 2001-2007, Isabelle played Vic Sotto's daughter in the sitcom Daddy DiDoDu.
Isabelle's movie credits include Bahay Ni Lola, Sanib, Padre de Pamilya and Magnifico in which she won FAMAS Best Child Actress in 2003.
She debuted as a recording artist under PolyEast Records in 2013. Her first CD Love Zone contains original songs, all written by her.
Isabelle was also featured in several shows on TV5 in 2014.
