CNG, PEPPS promote self-sufficiency in pageants

Two groups have joined forces to promote self-sufficiency through pageantry across the Philippines, starting in the Zamboanga Peninsula. This was announced by Emerilyn Suya, of Contact Network Group (CNG) who has tied tied up with Prime Events Productions Philippines, Inc. (PEPPS) led by Carlo Morris Galang, during a press event held at Alchemy Bistro Bar in Makati City last Feb. 24. "We have been doing charity events in Metro Manila and the in provinces with CNG. Our latest charity mission would involve the Man of the World contest which will be held in the Philippines later this year," said Galang. Suya said that her current charity program is focused in Mindanao where they want to provide the resources to educate the locals in the handicraft arts. A new competition which aims to promote space awareness was launched in Quezon City on Sunday, Jan. 12. The Mr. and Miss Cosmos Philippines 2020 competition is open to single and married men and women who are 20 to 45 years old who have the passion to promote space awareness. The online screening will start on Jan. 15. The winners of Mr. and Ms. Cosmos Philippines 2020 will represent the Philippines in the upcoming Mr. and Miss Cosmos World Finals. "You don't have to be a genius to join this competition. At least you have a basic knowledge about science, space technology, and universe," said New Space Age Inc owner Don Moral, during the launch held at H Cafe in Timog, Quezon City. Mister International pageant back in PH once again

All is set for the staging of 13th Mister International pageant in the Philippines from Feb. 18-24, organizers announced last February 5. The prestigious male competition was supposed to be held in Las Vegas, Nevada in the US. But due to time constraints, it will be held again in the Philippines second time around. Carlo Pasion wins Mister Model Worldwide in India

A 22-year-old fitness trainer from Laoag, Ilocos Norte who was about to give up his stint in pageants won Mister Model Worldwide 2018 during a contest held in India recently. Carlo Pasion waited for one year and three months before he could compete in an international pageant. Normally, a Filipino contestant would compete within the year the delegate won in the local search. The pageant in India focuses on modelling and physique. Other winners for Mister Model Worldwide 2018 were: Thailand, 1st runner-up; India, 2nd runner-up; Bolivia, 3rd runner-up; and Nigeria, 4th runner-up. Pasion won the Misters of Filipinas contest in September 2017, earning him the right to compete abroad. He was supposed to join the Mister Ocean 2018 contest in China in August but it was cancelled. After he resigned as Mister Universe Tourism 2018,  Tarlac hunk Benigno "Ion" Perez is set to conquer the pageant scene once again following rumors that he will compete in another male contest. Sources say that Perez will join another male pageant soon. No other details were given. Perez has already submitted his resignation to the organizers of Mister Universe Tourism via Instagram. Brata Kartasasmita of Indonesia replaced Perez as Mr. Universe Tourism 2018. This developed as the new kings of Misters of Filipinas 2018 pageant will be proclaimed at the Music Museum in Greenhills, San Juan City on October 3. Sources reveal that there will be changes in the number of titles to be presented this year from the previous five crowns. "The PEPPS Board is very much aware of the fact that Mr. Ion Perez has a son at the time that he joined the 2017 edition of Misters of Filipinas," says the popular pageant organizer in a statement when asked to comment on Perez having a three-year-old son.
