Manila set to stage 13th Mr. International pageant
Carlo Morris Galang, president of Prime Events Productions Philippines (PEPPS) Foundation Inc., organizer of the Misters of Filipinas pageant, has confirmed that the Mister International pageant will be held in the Philippines once again in 2019.
"I am proud to announce that we are bringing back Mister International here in our country! Are you excited? I want to hear some fresh ideas. I am also open for collaboration. Salamat sa suporta! Let's do this! Best of luck to our Mister International Philippines 2018 Mark Kevin Janda Baloaloa," says Galang on Facebook.
Alan Sim, President of the Mister International Organization, says the Mister International event in February 2019 will be for the 2018 edition. "Mister International 2019 will be held later this year."
Founded in 2006, the Mister International pageant was first held in Manila in 2015. The winner of the competition was Pedro Mendes of Switzerland. In 2014, Neil Perez captured its first Mister International title for the Philippines.
Galang says that the Mister International pageant will be held on Feb. 24, 2019. More than 48 contestants from around the world will compete in the prestigious male pageant.
This developed as Galang couldn't help but laugh at rumors linking "Kuya Escort" Ion Perez to ace comedian Vice Ganda who are part of the popular noontime program "It's Showtime" on ABS CBN.
"Yung Hong Kong trip nila Ion at Vice, grupo naman sila nun. And Vice Ganda is friendly at mabait," says Galang in an exclusive interview in Quezon City. (The Hong Kong trip of Ion and Vice Ganda is a group vacation. And Vice Ganda is nice).

Galang says that Pepps co-manages the career of Ion with the Kapamilya network. He adds that Ion has just signed a contract with ABS CBN but refused to give more details about the contract.
"Kapag may guesting si Ion halimbawa kakanta or may interviews, kinokontak pa rin kami ng ABS CBN," says Galang. Bukod sa gym, puspusan din ang training ni Ion sa voice lessons. (If Ion has guesting stints or interviews, ABS CBN still contact us).
Ion is a former winner of Mister Universe Tourism Philippines before he joined show business. But Galang refused to answer questions on the controversy involving the dethronement of Ion as Mister Universe Tourism earlier this year.
"Inalagaan naman ng organizers ng Mister Universe Tourism pageant si Ion. Pero siguro ayoko ng mag-comment sa issue na iyon kasi nasa poder ng MUT si Ion nun. So siguro mananahimik na lang ako para hindi na lumaki pa ang issue," says Galang. (In fairness, the organizers of the MUT really took care of Ion. But I don't want to comment about it anymore because the issue is about the MUT).
Asked about the advise he gave to Ion now that he is in showbiz, Galang says: "Few weeks ago lang nasa office siya at sinabihan namin siya na maging humble at huwag kalimutan ang kanyang pinanggalingan." (Few weeks ago he was in PEPPS office and I told him to stay humble all the time).
Galang says that he is happy that that the current titleholders of Misters of Filipinas - Mister International Philippines 2018 Mark Kevin Baloaloa and Man of the World Philippines 2018 JP Ocat - have signed up for various endorsements.

At the grand press conference held at the Sulo Riviera Hotel, AMC Star Marketing Services Incorporated headed by its President Anna Sepnio unveiled its newest product line: Mr. Clear, Mrs. Clear & Lady Clear, the newest home and personal home care products that will soon be out in the market.
Galang adds that he is not threatened by the presence of new male pageants these days. "Masaya ako dahil marami na kami. Marami ng masasalihan ang mga male contestants. Few years ago halos kami lang. Pero ngayong marami na kami, siguro dapat alagaan namin ang Misters of Filipinas pageant." (I'm happy for them. Before it was only us (Misters of Filipinas). I think we have to protect our pageant now). - ROBERT REQUINTINA
