CNG, PEPPS promote self-sufficiency in pageants

Two groups have joined forces to promote self-sufficiency through pageantry across the Philippines, starting in the Zamboanga Peninsula.

This was announced by Emerilyn Suya, of Contact Network Group (CNG) who has tied tied up with Prime Events Productions Philippines, Inc. (PEPPS) led by Carlo Morris Galang, during a press event held at Alchemy Bistro Bar in Makati City last Feb. 24.

"We have been doing charity events in Metro Manila and the in provinces with CNG. Our latest charity mission would involve the Man of the World contest which will be held in the Philippines later this year," said Galang.

Suya said that her current charity program is focused in Mindanao where they want to provide the resources to educate the locals in the handicraft arts.

"In doing so, local villagers will be closer to a state of self-sufficiency, earning for themselves, their families, and their livelihoods," she said.

Suya also said that they will assist in providing further educational materials such as free computer education for young students, out of school youth, the older generation of teachers, and farmers who are inclined to learn.

PEPPS is the group that stages the annual Misters of Filipinas male pageant and the international male competition dubbed Man of the World.

Suya said the partnership has established the DG&E Café with Daniel Georgiev, Man of the World 2019 from Bulgaria. The resto serves not only delicious delicacies but also healthy food as it is freshly picked from her farm.

The café is open for global customers where they can order online and their purchase will be fed to less fortunate kids who suffers from malnutrition and hunger.

Suya also said that she is working with Georgiev for a sports clothing line. She will also establish an organic farming project that could uplift the value of farmers in her town with the help of their City Mayor Melodie Tolin who eyes on building a road going to the farm to give convenience and easy access to all the farmers.

They will also be travelling here and abroad to take photos that will inspire students who are inclined to the art of painting and sell it that would benefit their charity.

A meet and greet and charity dinner is also held every Saturday in Dipolog, Makati and outside the Philippines to continuously provide funds for their philanthropic endeavors. - Robert Requintina/with images by Joy Arguil.
