Samantha Ricalde wins Teen Face Beauty International

Samantha Iris Libo-on Ricalde won 1st runner-up in the Teen Face of Beauty International contest held in New Delhi, India last September 25. Ricalde, 15, is a Grade 10 student at Angelicum College. Earlier, this teen from Binan, Laguna, who stands 5'8, won the Circle of 10- Walk To Fame contest. Friends know Ricalde as cheerful, thoughtful and approachable. She also loves volleyball and reading books. Samantha is the grand daughter of Ovette Ricalde, popularly known in the industry as Mother of All Pageants. Miss South Africa was declared Teen Face of Beauty International. Other winners were Miss Siberia, 2nd runner-up, Miss India, 3rd runner-up; and Miss Ecuador, 4th runner up. Other candidates who made it in the Top 20 semifinals were delegates from Estonia, Finland, Mexico, Thailand, Malaysia, Korea, Lesotho, Ukraine, Tonga, USA, Ireland, Puerto Rico, Spain, Russia and Denmark. Atom Araullo gets warm welcome from GMA 7

Days after he left ABS CBN, field reporter-television host Atom Araullo returned to GMA 7 where he started his broadcasting career. Araullo, 34, will be part of the Kapuso network's News and Public Affairs team. “I’m very excited. Ang dami kong gustong gawin, particularly in the realm of documentary production. I think this is a great place to do all of that,” said Araullo. GMA Network Chairman and CEO Atty. Felipe L. Rufa Mae Quinto OKs long distance relationship

Almost one year after she got married, actress Rufa Mae Quinto has said that she is in a long distance relationship with her husband Filipino-American financial analyst Trevor Magallanes who now works in the US. "S'yempre priority pa rin ang asawa kasi kayo ang matagal na magsasama. Pero syempre kailangan pa ako ng anak ko (Athena) dahil seven months pa lang sya. Dodj Mallari embarks on musical journey

Rising Kapamilya star Dodj Mallari has embarked on a singing career as he heads to a recording studio for his debut CD. "Naka-record na ako ng tatlong kanta. We will have 10 songs for my first CD. Hopefully, the full CD will be out second quarter of next year," said Mallari, during an exclusive interview for the soft launch of ''Christmas Parade by The Bay" held at Salu Restaurant in Quezon City recently. Mallari said that the three finished songs will be initially heard during a concert entitled "Walang Kokontra-Bida" on November 25. "Doon nila unang maririnig 'yung tatlong recorded songs ko. I am recording under MCA Universal Records," he said. Gabby Concepcion hopes to work with Marian Rivera

Kapuso star Gabby Concepcion has said that he hopes to work with Marian Rivera in a future project for GMA 7. "Si Marian (Rivera) sana makasama ko rin because she's one of the big stars of GMA," said Concepcion when asked who among the actresses he would like to work with, during an interview on "24 Oras" news program on the same network recently. Concepcion has just arrived from the Seoul, South Korea where he received an award at the 12th Seoul International Drama Awards for his role of a cheating husband on the afternoon drama "Ika-6 Na Utos." Miss Universe Philippine 2016 Maxine Medina debuts on the big screen in the movie "Spirit of the Glass 2: The Haunted." ''I'm done with pageants and ito na yung bago kong journey so ine-explore ko sya ngayon. And I'm thankful na marami pa ring taong sumusuporta sa akin,'' said Medina during an interview for "Balitanghali" on GMA News. Medina will be teamed-up with Kapuso star Benjamin Alves. They will play the role of sweethearts in the horror flick. Also starring in the movie produced by Octo Arts are Daniel Matsunaga and Enrico Cuenca. Medina competed at the 65th Miss Universe pageant held in Manila last January and placed in the Top 6. She is also in a relationship with actor Marx Topacio. MPO, Ica Fidel head to Laguna dinner-benefit concert

The touring Manila Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) goes to Laguna on Saturday, September 23, to back up a lady singer celebrating her 50th birthday in both grand fashion and for a cause. Dubbed "A Night With Ica," the dinner-benefit concert will feature former band vocalist-turned-businesswoman Ica Fidel, in a specially arranged concert at the Lina Lajara Chipeco Auditorium, Central 2 in Calamba City, Laguna at 5 p.m.                                                  The Manila Philharmonic Orchestra "She's good, especially in terms of musicality and the passion for it," said MPO's music director Rodel Colmenar, referring to Ica who started singing in her school days and honed it even more as a live act in Japan some years ago.
