Jake Zyrus opens up on former GF

Singer Jake Zyrus, the artist formerly known as Charice Pempengco, opened up about his break-up with former girlfriend Alyssa Quijano and said that they were on good terms when they split six months ago.

"Yung feeling na nagbreak kami, walang heavy na 'break na tayo!' We really talked it out," said Zyrus, when asked wrong did he do that partly caused the break-up, during an interview on "Tonight With Boy Abunda" on ABS CBN.

Zyrus also said that they did not fight about money or parents when they called it quits.

"One night, talagang nag-usap kami na we were the case na mas OK kami na friends na lang," he said.

Zyrus is now in a relationship with nutrition and fitness expert Shyre Aquino. He has just staged his first concert as Jake Zyrus dubbed "I Am Jake Zyrus" at the Music Museum in Greenhills, San Juan City last Oct. 6

When asked what one thing in the past he will never do in his present relationship, Zyrus said:  "Yung na-e-enjoy po namin ngayon, siguro 'yun yung na-realize ko, is yung may mga details na hindi alam ng ibang tao na kami lang ang nakaka-alam."

Zyrus, 25, describes Aquino as "exquisite."

He also prayed that everything would be okay between him and his mother Racquel Pempengco soon. "Impontante po sa akin na kung mag reach out po ako, I hope na two-way treat din sana na yung katulad ng kinukuwento ko sa nanay ko na naramdaman ko talaga 'yung love and realization na parang eto ka eh. eto ka at mamahalin kita kung sino ka."

Zyrus said that his brother Carl is not taking sides in the argument between him and their mother. "Si Carl lagi lang s'yang nasa gitna eh. Kasi yang si Carl, kahit na magkasama kami, ano lang talaga sya man of few words. Pero kahit hindi naman sya nagsasalita, wala talaga syang papanigan."

It would recalled that Racquel was offended as how she was portrayed on the drama anthology "Maala-Ala Mo Kaya" on ABS CBN that featured the life story of Zyrus.

Zyrus also said that he is considering sexual confirmation surgery in the future.

"Someday pero hindi naman po ako to the point na nagmamadali sa part na yun. Pero nakikita ko po at alam ko pong gagawin ko yun in the future. Alam kong pong gagawin ko 'yun and at the same time, preparing myself then kasi hindi biro yun, major operation talaga. Alam ko po sa sarili ko na ready ako so I just want to make sure na okay ako, healthy ako, physical, psychological ready ako para talagang prepared po ako," he said. - ROBERT REQUINTINA
