Arielle Agasang honored to dress up Miss Intercontinental

Popular Filipino haute couture designer Arielle Agasang of the Agasang House of Couture said that he is deeply honored to be chosen as one of the fashion designers for the Miss Intercontinental 2018 beauty pageant which wrapped up in Manila last Jan. 26.

"It is always an honor to dress up and style for an international beauty queen like Veronica Vallejo, our Miss Intercontinental 2017. The Miss Intercontinental pageant is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the talents of Filipino designers," said Agasang, during an exclusive interview.

Agasang dressed up Miss Intercontinental 2017 Veronica Vallejo of Mexico for gala night, meet-and-greet event, terno competition, and guest appearances for the pageant.

"Some people were rooting for other designers to dress her up (Veronica Vallejo). In the end, the organizers chose me because I think I am professional and easily to deal with," said Agasang.

Agasang recalled his friendship with the organizers of 47th Miss Intercontinental pageant started when they could not find immediately any designers to dress up Vallejo who came to Manila for the launch last October 2018.


"When they called me, I did not make any demands. I said 'yes!' That's how I got involved in the Miss Intercontinental pageant," he said.

Agasang said that this is not the first time that he would create outfits for beauty queens. "The clothes (for Veronica) were a mixed of classic and trendy styles."

Recently, 13 Filipino designers showed their talent and skills in fashion when they made outfits for 2018 Miss Universe contestants in Bangkok, Thailand.


The Miss Intercontinental contest had announced that it tapped 172 Filipino designers for the international pageant.
