Arielle Agasang to showcase techno fashion in 'Ako Ay Filipino' charity gala

Popular Filipino haute couture designer Arielle Agasang is set to make another splash in the fashion world as he will showcase his latest collection in "Ako ay Filipino" charity gala which will be held at the Centennial Ballroom of the historic Manila Hotel on June 13. At the press preview held at the Sampaguita Room of the Manila Hotel last Feb. 27, Agasang said that the event will also pay tribute to the most influential personalities of the year. Agasang said that the event aims to raise funds for the reconstruction and improvement of the infrastructure, service facilities and other sacred spaces of Our Lady of Assumption Parish in Lavezares, Northern Samar. The royal blue evening gown worn by Filipino beauty queen Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach when she won Miss Universe 2015 is shaping up to be a collectors' item. Popular Filipino designer Albert Andrada says that three persons have offered him to buy Pia's blue gown for more than P1 million. "Without the Miss Universe title, it was roughly P180,000-P200,000. But with the Miss Universe title already, it shoots up to more than P1 million. I'm saying this because somebody offered to buy it and the (national) costume as well," says Andrada, during an exclusive interview in Tagaytay City recently. Andrada says that three Filipinos have offered to buy Pia's gown displayed at his shop in Makati City. He did not identify them. "There were three offers but I declined it. International fashion designer Angela Taloza has been named as the franchise holder and national director of Jewel of the World Italy. Taloza was welcomed by John De La Vega, founder and international director of Jewel of the World beauty pageant. "I am very excited to be part of the Jewel of the World family, a pageant that promotes beauty in cultural diversity," says Taloza after she signed up with De La Vega in Quezon City recently. As franchisee for Jewel of the World Italy, Taloza earned the right to choose a candidate in Italy who will compete in the international pageant next year.
