'Captain Marvel' to raise funds for feeding, scholarship programs



 A non-government organization (NGO) will raise some P100,000 to cover the feeding and scholarship program expenses in Negros and Metro Manila communities.

Ahmed Davis, Head of the James MacKay Foundation Inc. (JMFI), said that the Foundation would like to raise P100,000.00 and more to cover the feeding and scholarship programs expenses for first quarter of 2019.

"We are currently feeding over 50 children around the metro and seeking for more scholar to add to our growing list of James Mackay Foundation Inc. honors. We have been doing our feeding programs in the province in particularly Negros and 2019 started with Metro Manila communities," Davis said.

Mafae Yunon Belasco, Marketing Head of JMFI, said that the Foundation will sponsor the world premiere of the much-awaited movie "Captain Marvel" which stars Brie Larson, Samuel J. Jackson, McKenna Grace, etc. at the Rockwell Power Plant in Makati City on March 9 at 1 p.m.

This is not the first time that the Foundation will raise funds through movie premiere.  Last year, the JMFI  hosted two movie premieres for a cause "Wonder Woman" and "Justice League".

Belasco, who finished top 5 in Miss World 2003 beauty pageant, said that the fun event educated guests on works for the Foundation and a meet and greet with our beneficiary from Philippine National School for the Blind (PNSB).

They also had supportive sponsors such as The Parenting Emporium, The City Club Alphaland Makati in care of General Manager Nic Belasco, Tasty Tucker, Mackay Green Energy Inc, Ramen Metro, Bless Okiniiri, Buensuceso Sondia Construction Corporation, Marco Polo Hotel, Johnson & Johnson and New Era.

Additional lists of sponsors include Aegle Wellness Center, Happy Skin, Marie France, JCI Makati,
Rotary Dasmariñas, Thames International Business College, and Belasco Unlimited Skills Academy.

Belasco said that the Foundation is also conducting other projects/programs with education, healthcare, livelihood, and sports, as pillars to pursue the mission. "We have 4 pillars that we use as a guide to pursue our mission and vision for JMFI." - ROBERT REQUINTINA
