SAS, PH tie-up for analytics
SAS Philippines, the leader in analytics, has expressed support to the government by partnering with them in area of analytics which would eventually help the public in fraud management, anti-money laundering, public safety, and cybersecurity.
"These days we are trying to expand our investments with the Philippine government," said Ryan Guadalquiver, ASEAN director for business solutions, SAS, during a press conference dubbed "SAS Government Forum 2019 Agenda" held at the Edsa Shangrila in Mandaluyong City recently
Quadalquiver added: "We're trying to see how we can expand a bit in terms of analytics in some areas where the administration is trying to focus on."
SAS has been the leader in analytics for more than 40 years now, he said.
"I would say we invented analytics since 1976," said Quadalquiver.
SAS started in North Carolina in the US as a simple means of trying to help the American state's agricultural sector in terms of increasing their produce.
"Our partnership with the Philippines started with IRRI in 1976. In the Philippines, SAS is present more on financial sector such as bank or goccs," he said.
Gerard McDonnell, regional solution director, SAS Fraud and Security Intelligence ASEAN, and Asif Lakdawala, principal industry consultant, SAS Middle East, said that they have so much faith in the Philippine government.
Also joining in the panel was Patrick Meneses, ASEAN director for business solutions, SAS, who tacked accelerating value from a proper analytics foundation.
Asked if SAS has applied analytics in the forthcoming national elections, Quadalquiver said: "We haven't touched on the Philippine electoral system. No discussions yet with the Comelec." - ROBERT REQUINTINA
