Manila set to stage 13th Mr. International pageant

Carlo Morris Galang, president of Prime Events Productions Philippines (PEPPS) Foundation Inc., organizer of the Misters of Filipinas pageant, has confirmed that the Mister International pageant will be held in the Philippines once again in 2019. Former Mister Universe Tourism 2018 Ion Perez says he is done with pageants as he focuses on other things in life. "Hindi na po ako sasali sa ibang pageants," says Perez, in an exclusive interview for Pop News Philippines. (I will not join other male pageants anymore). The hunk from Tarlac made the reaction following rumors that he will join another male contest when he resigned as Mister Universe Tourism. Perez, who is set to crown his successor at the Misters of Filipinas contest on Oct. 3, says that he has moved on from male pageants. After he resigned as Mister Universe Tourism 2018,  Tarlac hunk Benigno "Ion" Perez is set to conquer the pageant scene once again following rumors that he will compete in another male contest. Sources say that Perez will join another male pageant soon. No other details were given. Perez has already submitted his resignation to the organizers of Mister Universe Tourism via Instagram. Brata Kartasasmita of Indonesia replaced Perez as Mr. Universe Tourism 2018. This developed as the new kings of Misters of Filipinas 2018 pageant will be proclaimed at the Music Museum in Greenhills, San Juan City on October 3. Sources reveal that there will be changes in the number of titles to be presented this year from the previous five crowns. Brata Kartasasmita of Indonesia has been crowned as the new Mr. Universe Tourism 2018, replacing Benigno "Ion" Perez of the Philippines. This was announced by Mr. Manuel Genabe, CEO of Mr. Universe Tourism Organization, during the coronation night of Mr. Tourism Indonesia 2018 Friday night. "Your country's representative last year Mr. Brata Kartasasmita did very well and landed as one of the winners being the first runner up," says Genabe. He adds: "However, due to the recent turn of events with our grand winner and for his disappearance and inability to fulfill his obligations and responsibilities, it is now my pride and honor to announce that Mr. Universe Tourism Indonesia 2018 Brata is now Mr. Universe Tourism 2018 replacing the previous winner!" Organizers say that Ion Perez is still Mr. Universe Tourism 2018 pending his formal resignation from the organization. "Let it be known that Mr. Perez from the Philippines has gone rouged but there is no formal resignation submitted by Mr. Perez to the organization," says Jumel Bornilla, President of the Mr. Universe Tourism Organization, in a letter. Bornilla adds: "The organization is issuing this statement to let everyone know that Mr. Perez suddenly vacated and abandoned his official residence and commitments, that he has prior knowledge of, without conveying any reason at all. The organization has tried several times and still trying to reach out through SMS and calls; however, they were left unanswered; "The organization is still open for a peaceful dialogue with Mr. Perez. Prime Event Productions Philippines (PEPPS) Foundation Inc., the group that organizes the annual Misters of Filipinas contest, has said that it is fully aware that reigning Mister Universe Tourism Ion Perez has a child when he competed and won in the local male pageant. "The PEPPS Board is very much aware of the fact that Mr. Ion Perez has a son at the time that he joined the 2017 edition of Misters of Filipinas," says the popular pageant organizer in a statement when asked to comment on Perez having a three-year-old son. Misters of Filipinas, the country's most prestigious pageant for young Filipino men, has announced its four official candidates for this year's contest. They are Jego Nacnac, Misters of Filipinas Laoag; Ruben Anthony Timbol, Misters of Filipinas Tarlac; Federico Palejon, Misters of Filipinas Italy; and Johnchris Gamez, Misters of Filipinas Florence Italy. Days after Beningo "Ion" Perez won the Mister Universe Tourism 2018 pageant, the former food vendor from Tarlac will enjoy a prize package that's nearly similar to that of a Miss Universe title holder. The Mister Universe Tourism 2918 is only one of two international male pageants in the world that gives fabulous perks to the winner during his reign. Perez, 27, will receive a year-long salary, one-year stay in a luxury apartment, a car service with driver, an assistant, and a bodyguard, gym membership, enroll in a personality development school, and other free stuff.
