2018 Ishin-Denshin Int'l Music Festival to help Marawi victims

Will Senator Manny Pacquiao perform at the 2018 Ishin-Denshin International Music Festival at the Mall of Asia Open Grounds on February 10?

"That we have to find out but for sure Senator Manny Pacquiao will be there to support the Ishin-Denshin International Music Festival," said Pauline Sofia Laping, who represented  Monde Luce Productions, in the press conference held at the Hops and Brews, I'm Hotel in Makati City recently.

Pacquiao ventured into the music in 2006 when he recorded his debut CD called "Laban Nating Lahat Ito" which went Platinum. In 2007, Pacquiao released his sophomore album called "Pac-Man Punch."

The Filipino boxing champ has already performed at the "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" in Hollywood and for Fox Sports.

To date, his most important recording is "Lalaban Ako Para sa Pilipino" which he plays every time he goes to the right for a fight.

The 2018 Ishin-Denshin International Music Festival aims to make a link between the Filipino and Japanese music lovers stronger, possibly to explore  new and exciting sounds that has never been head of before.

"Proceeds of the concert will go to the Manny Pacquiao Foundation and help the people of Marawi who were displaced due to months-long siege," said Laping, who also organizes the annual Miss Global Philippines beauty contest.

OPM and foreign artists who will take part in the music festival are Bamboo, Ely Buendia, Apl de Ap, Itchyworms, Rocksteady, Beni Beverly, Maria Gow, DJ Ace Ramos, DJ Shoyd, DJ Hello Kitty, DJ Daiki, and Absolute Play.

"Actually, the disc jockeys will come from Japan while our local artists will perform during the concert," said Laping.

Ishin-denshin is a Japanese idiom which literally translates as "what the mind thinks, the heart transmits."

"The relationship between our two countries, historically, has been very dramatic. There's always been a lot of similarities and differences, but above all, there's always been admiration and respect," said Monde Luce Productions president Irizuki Kazuyoshi in a statement.

Irizuki added: "It is this vibrant energy between our two cultures that we want to channel and showcase during the festival."

Brazilian actress-turned-producer Diana Meneses will host the charity show which will begin at 4 p.m. onwards.

DJ Shoyd, one of the disc jockeys who will join the festival, said: "I am absolutely excited to share the stage with some very big names this coming February 10. There has never been a festival like this before and music fans of all ages can expect only the best from all of us, We will not be holding back." - ROBERT REQUINTINA
