75th Golden Globe Awards: Winners and Nominees 2018

Hollywood's biggest stars will walk the famous red carpet to attend the 75th annual Golden Globe Awards at the International Ballroom of the Beverly Hilton in California on January 7 (Jan. 8 Manila time).

Late-night TV talk show host Seth Meyers will be the master of ceremonies during the star-studded event which expects a darker tone following the current sexual harassment allegations plaguing the entertainment industry.

                                                                The Shape of Water

"The Shape of Water" tops with seven nominations while "Big Little Lies" leads the television categories with six nominations.

Media icon Oprah Winfrey is this year's recipient of the Cecil B. DeMille Award, the first black woman to receive the recognition since the award started in 1944.

The Cecil B. DeMille Award is an honorary award presented by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for "outstanding contributions to the world of entertainment."

The New York Times reported that Laura Dern, Amy Poehler, Susan Sarandon, Meryl Streep, Emma Stone, Emma Watson, Michelle Williams and Shailene Woodley will each be accompanied by activists in a range of fields on the red carpet.

"The move is part of a widening effort by prominent Hollywood women, who formed the umbrella group Time’s Up, to extend the focus on sexual harassment to women marginalized because of class, sexuality, ethnicity or race."
