4 OFWs get livelihood assistance from Villar

Four overseas Filipino workers, including a survivor of the Marawi Siege who experienced maltreatment while working abroad, received livelihood assistance from Sen. Cynthia Villar. In a meeting with Villar at the Senate, the OFWs each received a start up kit for a sari-sari store and financial assistance under the senator’s program for repatriated OFWs who were maltreated or victimized by illegal recruitment. “With this assistance, we hope to be able to help our kababayan to start anew as they recover from the physical and emotional abuse their employers inflicted on them while working abroad,” Villar said. “Despite the many cases of maltreatment abroad, nakakalungkot na marami pa rin sa ating mga kababayan ang sumusugal na pumunta sa ibang bansa para lamang magkaroon ng pagkakakitaan,” she added. Sharon Cuneta sentimental over Makati City residence

Megastar Sharon Cuneta celebrated her 52nd birth anniversary last January 6 as she got sentimental again over her old residence in an upscale neighborhood in Makati City. On the eve of her birth anniversary last Jan. 5, Sharon paid tribute to her late parents -- Pasay City Mayor Pablo Cuneta and Elaine Gamboa. "Pablo and Elaine Gamboa - Cuneta’s girl. Miss you, Daddy and Mommy. I am turning a year older tomorrow, and I wish you both were still here to make my happiness complete. See you again someday," Sharon wrote on Facebook. Then she turned sentimental over their former house in Dasmarinas Village in Makati City where she grew up. "I hope you are proud of me and Kuya and our children. Kuya and I wish we could buy our Dasma house back, but the new owners are already building a completely new structure and our beloved 40 + year old home is gone. Still...someday...
