Cory Quirino: Relations with Arnold Vegafria 'cordial'
Health and wellness guru and television personality Cory Quirino has clarified that it was the Miss World Organization (MWO) led by chairwoman Julia Morley who appointed talent manager Arnold Vegafria as the newest franchise holder of the Miss World Philippines beauty contest.
"There is no need to turn over as he was already appointed by the Miss World Organization," said Quirino in an exclusive interview, when asked if there would be turn over ceremonies for the new franchise holder of Miss World Philippines pageant.
Quirino added that she won't be attending the forthcoming launch of the Miss World Philippines 2017 under Vegafria soon. "I wasn't informed about his press conference."
But Quirino said that her relationship with Vegafria remains cordial.
"We parted professionally during my partnership with Viva Films last year. However, we have always maintained cordial relations. I wish him all the best in his endeavors," she said.
Quirino said that the 2016-2017 Miss World winners are still under contract with Viva.
"The presence of our 2016 winners in any MWP 2017 official activities will have to be coursed through Viva," she added.
In January, Quirino bid a grateful farewell to the MWO as its Philippine license holder.
Quirino successfully steered her company CQ Global Quest Inc. from 2011-2016 while accomplishing its ambitious goal of winning the Miss World crown in 2013 with the triumph of Megan Lynne Young in Bali, Indonesia.
This unprecedented victory finally ended the 63-year wait for the elusive "blue crown" for the Philippines.
