Talent manager Alfie Lorenzo passes away

Talent manager and movie scribe Alfie Lorenzo passed away due to heart failure early morning of August 1. He was 78.

Lorenzo's demise was confirmed by his nephew Ramon Lorenzo on ABS CBN.

The remains of the popular talent manager will lie at the Arlington Memorial Chapel in Quezon City starting Tuesday night, August 1. Later, Lorenzo's remains were cremated. His ashes were brought to his family in Pampanga.

Lorenzo is known as the discoverer of actress Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo and other showbiz personalities.

On her Instagram post, Santos bid goodbye to her talent manager.

"It is with deep sadness that we pray for our Dear Tito Alfie who has joined our Creator at 2:12 this morning.

"We are just coordinating the wake details with the family as we would want to be faithful to his last requests.

"We shall keep you posted. Thank you for your understanding and being one with us in this time of grief," said Santos.

Lorenzo has been the talent manager of Santos for 32 years. But the two parted ways professionally earlier this year.

Despite this, Santos said that she is fully indebted to her talent manager for her booming career in show business.

"We've talked last year August pumunta ako sa bahay n'ya. It was a very, very proper discussion. Nagpaalam ako ng maayos kasi malaki ang utang na loob ko kay Tito Alfie," said Santos during an interview on "Tonight With Boy Abunda" on ABS-CBN.

It's not a professional thing, it's just a personal decision that I had to make because Tito Alfie is not only a professional manager, he's family;"

It's time to move on," said Santos, wife of Ryan Agoncillo.

But it appeared that the statement of Santos is opposed to her ex-manager's reaction in terms of parting ways.

“You need me, I don’t need you,” said Lorenzo on Santos, in an exclusive interview on PEP recently.

Lorenzo also denied reports that Santos cried when they parted ways. “Hindi siya umiyak. Drama na lang ‘yon. Sabi lang niya ‘yon para may drama." - ROBERT REQUINTINA
