Miss Int'l 2017 3rd runner-up Amber Dew explores Gigantes Islands

Miss International 2017 3rd runner-up Amber Dew from Australia has arrived in the Philippines to join a local tourism campaign that will take her to the Gigantes Islands, also known as Islas de Gigantes or the islands of giants, in northeastern Iloilo and other parts of the country.

During the launch held at the Diana Stalder Cafe at Basement 2 of Gateway in Quezon City recently, Dew said that she is excited to be part of the tourism campaign for the Philippines.

"I am so excited to be part of this tourism campaign. You may not know it but I have so many Filipino friends and they have been telling me so much about the popular attractions here in your country," Dew said.

Dew's Philippine tour is made possible by Gigantes Island Tour and Services, Wazzup Pilipinas, a lifestyle website; and the Department of Tourism.

According to exploreiloilo.com, the Gigantes Islands are blessed with pristine white sand beaches, bountiful fresh seafood, and jagged rock formations shrouded by mystical tales of locals. Despite the increase of tourist arrivals in recent years, Gigantes  has retained its off-beat charm and remains relatively underdeveloped compared to Boracay, Bohol, and other mainstream tourist destinations in the Philippines.

The 22-year-old beauty queen said that she will also take part in some charitable activities in Metro Manila.

"Thanks to Congressman Edgar Erice for giving us the opportunity to help these families. Despite their circumstances these children were very happy and thankful, this was an eye-opening experience that I will never forget," she said.

After her Philippine tour, Dew will compete in Miss World Australia 2019 in the hope of becoming her country's representative to the Miss World 2019 beauty contest.

"Joining pageants has made me a different person. It empowers me through worthwhile activities and has inspired me to do well," Dew said.

Dew is also expected to be an endorser for Diana Stalder Face, Body, and Skincare Center. Since 1996 until today, Diana Stalder Face, Body, and Skincare Center has consistently made every skin it cared and treated, always better. A division of Swisse-Phil Holdings Corporation, this prominent name offers a combination of excellent formulation and treatments that cater to the general or customized needs of skincare clientele. - ROBERT REQUINTINA
