Who will win the inaugural Bikining Pilipinas 2019 pageant?

Twenty-eight girls will vie for the first Bikining Pilipinas 2019 beauty pageant which will be held at The Island, Uptown Bonifacio Global City in Taguig City on Wednesday, May 1.

Victor G. Naynes, president and CEO of RV International Talent Management, said that the contest is similar to the popular American lingerie show know as Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.

"The Bikining Pilipinas girls is similar to the American lingerie fashion show but our girls will wear elaborate costumes built around swimsuits not underwear," said Naynes.

Romeo Martin, co-founder and managing director of RV International Talent Management Events and Productions, said that the pageant aims to find a woman who is not shy about strutting her stuff in a swimsuit.

"May agency kasi ako. Minsan may tumatawag sa akin yung mga staff ng teleserye, nagtatanong kung meron akong sexy na talent. Wala ako nun sa roster ko at the moment. Mahirap kasi latel magre-rely ka sa mga pictures. Iba rin na nakikita mo sa personal  kaya naisip kong gawin ito," said Martin.


Joining Naynes and Martin in this project is showbiz legend director Edgar "Bobot" Mortiz who also conceptualized the pageant.

"Naghahanap din kasi sila ng sexy actress na puwedeng isama sa Banana Sundae, yung gag show nila sa ABS-CBN. We were inspired by other pageants pero nilagyan na lang namin ng twist. We are looking for girls na may curves. Beauty is also a factor. We want a total package sana," said Naynes.

There will be three winners in the pageant: title holder, 1st runner-up; and 2nd runner-up. The main winner will receive P100,000 cash, and a management contract from RV International.

"If Bikining Pilipinas 2019 becomes successful, we plan to do it again," said Naynes. - Robert R. Requintina
