Jollibee welcomes Catriona Gray as its newest ambassador

Jollibee, the country's number one fast-food brand, welcomed reigning Miss Universe Catriona Gray to its stellar roster of endorsers in an afternoon loaded with fun and laughter held at the Novotel Manila Araneta Center in Quezon City Saturday.

"I feel incredibly honored to be part of the Jollibee family and this successful homegrown brand that makes me proud to be a Filipino, " said Gray at the launch of her Jollibee media campaign. 

She added: "Being able to associate the new and improved slow-melt Jolly Twirl with my own slow-mo twirl makes this opportunity a great fit,  and it's a bonus that I absolutely love this dessert."

Gray,  25, was referring to her acclaimed Lava Walk during the Miss Universe 2018 competition held in Bangkok, Thailand in December.

Part of the Lava Walk was the slow-mo twirl which American supermodel Tyra Banks also praised. 

"We at Jollibee feel very honored to have Catriona join our family, " said Francis Flores, Jollibee Global Brand Chief Marketing Officer. 

Flores added: "She has shown incredible grace, empathy, and Filipino excellence in the world stage,  brought home the most coveted crown, and continues to help and inspire Filipino children through her advocacies. She called us iconic, but she's an equally iconic-figure - an iconic queen that captured our nation's heart. "

Gray also share how excited she was for the experience if having filmed the commercial with Twirlie,  one of Jollibee's friends who gracefully mimicked her famous Lava Walk right after her victory. 

The Filipino-Australian beauty queen and Twirlie had a twirling showdown to the delight of the media and other guests at the launch. 

Gray is expected to return to the country for the grand coronation of Bb. Pilipinas 2019 beauty pageant on June 9. - ROBERT R. REQUINTINA
