Face of Beauty Int'l 2019 set in PH
The Philippines will play host to an international beauty pageant which aims to stop violence against women.
This was announced by Mila Manuel, president of Face of Beauty International pageant, during a press conference held at El Calle Restaurant of Resorts World Manila in Pasay City recently.
"The pageant is part of the I Am Me campaign which empowers and encourages the contestants to participate in activities that help alleviate social injustice," said Manuel.
The I Am Me campaign is the heart of the pageant's humanitarian effort. It centers on social issues that are plaguing the host country.
She added: "We are all about empowering women, celebrating cultures, and turning particular participants into icons of goodwill and vessels for social change."
This year the I Am Me campaign will be helping out the Aeta communities in Pampanga.
At the press event, Face of Beauty International 2018 Myint Mo May of Myanmar and Face of Beauty International 2017 Pai Tanisa of Thailand shared their experiences during the competition and how it changed their lives after winning their respective titles. Also joining the panel were Francis Antonio, EMPRO managing director; and Philippine representative to this year's pageant Samantha Coloso.
Established in 2012, the pageant has been staged in countries like India, Thailand, Taiwan and Mongolia.
Rosantonette Mendoza, Face of Beauty 2018 and EMPRO PR manager, said: "I am looking forward to this year's competition. Many of the ladies who have qualified for the pageant have a good shot at winning the crown. They are beautiful, bold, and have big hearts."
The Face of Beauty International 2019 pageant will run from November 9-18 in various locations at the Clark Freeport Zone. The grand coronation night will be held at the Royce Hotel and Casino on Nov. 17.
