Meet Marielle Casingal Lim, one of the official candidates for Mister and Miss Philippine Youth 2020. Marielle, 15, said that she is campaigning for an intensified animal welfare program because animals remain to be one of the neglected groups in the country. "Animals are vulnerable and they need people who should speak and defend for them," she said. Marielle said that another issue which needs to be addressed among teenagers these days is peer pressure. During a meet-and-greet event at Gateway Mall in Quezon City, Marielle said that she is excited to join her first national beauty pageant. "One of my preparations is to read newspapers for current events. It would help me in the question-and-answer portion of the pageant," she said. Teen queens to new bets: Be yourself, share advocacies

Two teen queens of Miss Philippines Youth beauty pageant shared their pieces of advice to the incoming candidates of the teen competition as they encouraged them to be themselves and share their advocacies. "As what I keep on telling them during our events, just be yourself and always  do things from the heart. Sincerity is important not only in the pageant but also in our life," said Rikki Mae dela Pena, reigning Miss Philippine Youth, during an interview. Reigning Miss Philippine Youth International Rikki Mae Dela Pena has advised her peers to always choose career over fame. “Career must be prioritized as it sets direction in our life and as part of the youth we must choose a career that we really love because by doing something that we really love, fame and success will follow," said Rikki Mae in an interview. Rikki Mae also said that the youth can achieve their dreams through hardwork. "Since my target is the young age group and the young at heart, playful colors should be observed. The vibe should be vigorous. It’s like when you see my creation, it’s seems like its targeting those people who are young and people aspiring to remain youthful," said Nadine, a former Miss Philippine Youth titlist. Nadine, a Grade 10 student of Colegio San Agustin in Makati City, expounds the design concepts for SimoneSwimwear. Called Simone Swimwear, Nadine says her line has buoyant colors that will definitely keep you afloat in the scene of the much awaited summer escapade anywhere in the universe. The teen queen posted some of her designs on Facebook. Fresh from her successful stint in Miss Teen International beauty pageant in India, Simone Nadine Bornilla arrived home as she met members of the pageant media in Makati City recently. Aside from school (Colegio San Agustin - Makati), judging local beauty pageants, modelling, and preparing for the screening of Miss Philippines Youth contest, Nadine is the brand ambassador of BAYONGciaga, a proudly Philippine-made, hand-woven bag that provides sustainable income to communities of bayong weavers. "The screening (for Miss Philippines Youth) is coming up so we're preparing for it.
