Sunshine Cruz earns college degree in psychology

Actress Sunshine Cruz graduated from college at the Arellano University in Sampaloc, Manila during ceremonies held at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City last April 1.

"I did it!," said Cruz, 39, in a video posted on Instagram. The video showed her accepting the diploma from school officials as her batch mates cheered her.

Cruz, former wife of actor Cesar Montano, took up AB Psychology under the expanded tertiary education equivalency and accreditation program of the Commission on Higher Education.

The actress was accompanied by her three daughters and boyfriend Macky Mathay at the graduation rites.
It was in March 2016 when Cruz announced on social media that she was going back to school.

"It's never too late to go back to school," said Cruz on IG after she posted an education module from the same university.

Hours before she went to PICC, Cruz posted a photo on Instagram in which she carried a bouquet of flowers given by Mathay.

"It's now my turn to graduate. Off to PICC. Thank you for these beautiful flowers my Macky!," said Cruz on its caption.

Cruz is currently seen in the afternoon Kapamilya teleserye "Wildflower" starring Maja Salvador.

Earlier in the day, Samantha Montano, one of the daughters of Sunshine and Cesar, also graduated from grade school.

Samantha thanked her parents for their support.

"Thank you to the best mom ever for supporting me through grade school up till my graduation! Love you so much! I will be doing the same to you too since today is also your graduation!;"
