Diego Loyzaga triumphs over life's challenges

In spite of the recent challenges, actor Diego Loyzaga has said he never thought of giving up as he embraces the moral support of his family and friends.

"Hindi pwede," said Loyzaga when asked if he ever thought of giving up, during an interview on "Tonight With Boy Abunda" on ABS CBN.

Loyzaga said that his mother Teresa and friend Sofia Andres have always been there for him during difficult moments in life.

"There were times last year na grabe na. The struggle was very intense. It was almost unbearable," said Loyzaga.

Sinamahan n'ya ako," he said.

"During Christmas time po talaga s'ya lumala. So talagang it's a depressing time for me," Loyzaga added.

"Hindi ako masaya nung Christmas at New Year. She was there.

We stayed with them during Christmas and made sure that ipaalala sa akin na may pamilya ako dito," Loyzaga said.

Loyzaga, 21, is romantically linked to Andres.

Asked what he likes about Andres, Loyzaga said: "Personality and malambing."

Loyzaga is the son of Teresa Loyzaga and actor Cesar Montano. He appeared on the late-night show to promote his first lead role in the newest afternoon teleserye "Pusong Ligaw" on the Kapamilya network.

The model and video jockey said that he plays the role of Potpot in the new TV series. It also stars Bianca King and Beauty Gonzalez.

Isang very down to earth na tao.

In February, Diego became controversial when posted rants against Montano who accused him of being drug addict. The young actor called his father liar and hypocrite.

Diego was raised by his mother in Australia. In 2011, he returned to the country and works as an actor and model. - ROBERT REQUINTINA
