40 bets joining Miss Asia Pacific Int'l 2017 beauty pageant

Forty delegates from around the world have confirmed their participation in the Miss Asia Pacific International 2017 beauty contest which will be held in Manila on Nov. 28.

Organizers said that the candidates are expected to arrive starting Nov. 10. Then they will be presented to the members of the press at EDSA Shangri-la in Mandaluyong City on Nov. 13.

Dubbed the mother of all beauty pageants in Asia, the Miss Asia Pacific International 2017 beauty contest returns after a decade of hiatus.


"With its advocacy to foster love and appreciation of cultural, physical, and spiritual diversities, Miss Asia Pacific International is set to inspire the everyone to be comfortable in their own skin and to believe that their unique and distinct traits is one of the key qualities that make them beautiful," said Jacqueline Tan, president of the Miss Asia Pacific International pageant.

Tessa Le Conge of the Netherlands is the reigning Miss Asia Pacific International.


This year's Philippine representative to the pageant is Ilene De Vera, 21, a mass communication graduate from the University of the Philippines in Cebu.

De Vera is presently working as a marketing executive in a real estate company and has been modelling for six years under Models Association of Cebu on the side.
