This after Cochico's fans are encouraging him to join the Mister World Philippines 2018 contest, now under the management of Arnold L. Vegafria.
"Actually iniisip ko pa po," says Cochico, who is assigned at the Polygraph Division at the Camp Crame headquarters in Quezon City.
If his posts showing his well-built physique should be considered, then the six-footer cop is very qualified for the prestigious male pageant.
And given the physical activities for the Mister World contests, Cochico will surely pass them with flying colors.
Cochico, 29, represented the Philippines at the Manhunt International contest in 2016.
Bessie Besana, general manager of the Mister World Philippines contest, says that they are ready to present the candidates of the male contest three weeks from now.
When asked if there were personalities joining the pageant, Besana says: "We will know on Aug. 10."
Unconfirmed reports say that another former "Misters" AR Dela Serna and 2016 Mister Universal Ambassador 2nd runner-up Andrea Biondo are joining the male pageant.
Man of the Year 2016 Karan Singhdole, another "Misters" baby, is said to be considering to give Mister World Philippines pageant a crack.
Staged every two years, contestants in the Mister World contest participate in various fast-track events such as talent, fashion, extreme sports, and modelling.
So far, no Filipino has won the title. But the current Mister World is Rohit Khandelwal of India is the first Asian to win the contest.
The highest placement won by a Filipino in the pageant was first runner-up won by Filipino-British athlete Andrew Wolff in 2012. Wolff, 32, currently plays for the Alabang Eagles Rugby Club and the Philippine Volcanoes.
Other Filipinos who competed in the Mister World pageant were Christopher Celis (1996), Rico Lee Miguel (1998), Roderick Dilla Salvador (2000), Marco Antonio Tamayo (2003), Emmanuel Mago (2007), Alvin de Joya (2010), John Spainhour (2014) and Sam Adjani (2016).
For the first time, the Philippines will host the Mister World contest in January 2019. - ROBERT REQUINTINA
