Angela Taloza named Jewel of the World Italy nat'l director
International fashion designer Angela Taloza has been named as the franchise holder and national director of Jewel of the World Italy.
Taloza was welcomed by John De La Vega, founder and international director of Jewel of the World beauty pageant.
"I am very excited to be part of the Jewel of the World family, a pageant that promotes beauty in cultural diversity," says Taloza after she signed up with De La Vega in Quezon City recently.
As franchisee for Jewel of the World Italy, Taloza earned the right to choose a candidate in Italy who will compete in the international pageant next year.
"For our first stint in the pageant, we will handpick a Filipino-Italian candidate. You will meet her soon. Secret muna kung sino ang candidate from Italy," says Taloza.
Then in the succeeding years of the international pageant, Taloza says that she will try to find a candidate who is pure Italian.
Taloza, 13, is an international fashion designer who owns the Angela Taloza Collections. She is also a trainer/coach at Angela Taloza Morena Modeling Group. She also owns a catering service.
This hardworking fashion designer is currently completing her masters degree in fine arts and design at the Philippine Women University (PWU) in Manila. She earned her bachelor's degree in fine arts at the same university.
Born and raised in Lasam, Tuguegarao and now based in Imus, Cavite, Taloza started designing at the young age of 13.
Now that she is a successful fashion designer, Taloza plans to join the political arena soon.
"After completing my master's degree and doctorate, I want to join politics. Maybe at the age of 50? That's my target. It's not about the power whenever I tell them that I want to join politics. I think I would be able to help many people through politics," says Taloza, during an interview in Mandaluyong City.
These days, Taloza says that she does not have enough time to rest because she's a busy person.
"When I am not into fashion designing, I am into public speaking. I am invited to talk about fashion in the provinces," adds Taloza.
Taloza says that now that she has already earned six units in her master's at PWU, the Mr. and Miss PWU Board of Director says that she intends to teach incoming freshmen in the same school during the next semester. "I want to teach product design."
When asked to describe her fashion, Taloza says: "It's simple. Sometime it's complicated. My designs are usually beaded. And my trademark is closed neck and sexy." Taloza has already dressed up many celebrities and beauty queens here and abroad. - ROBERT REQUINTINA
