Who will win the 1st Global Asian Model World Finals 2019?

Thirty-eight male and female models with Asian heritage will compete in the first Global Asian Model World Finals which will be held at the Cove at Okada Manila in Paranaque City on Nov. 21. "Thirty-eight models from different countries will compete for the ultimate male and female models who will win cash prizes and guaranteed modeling placements in Manila, Singapore, Bangkok, Los Angeles, New York," said Jonas Gaffud of Empire Studios, during a welcome party held at the Cove Beach Club over the weekend. It is co-presented by Frontrow Philippines. The Philippine representatives for the modelling competition are Vince Lenard Marcelo and Ella Eiveren Lubag. Solenn, Benjamin go all the way in 'Misterio De La Noche'

Filipino-French star Solenn Heussaff and actor Benjamin Alves went daring in the horror-fantasy-drama "Misterio De La Noche," an entry to the Cinemalaya 2019 film festival at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP). "Misterio De La Noche" is a period horror-drama flick that tackles the first reported mananaggal in the countryside. Scenes showed Solenn in nude as she portrays the role of an 18-year-old lass who falls in love with Benjamin during an encounter in the forest. Solenn transforms into a ghastly creature after her love affair with Benjamin went wrong. Both stars said that by far, "Misterio" is the most difficult movie they have done. Gazini Ganados reacts to rumored staging of Miss Universe in PH

If reigning Miss Universe Philippines Gazini Ganados would have her way, she doesn't want the prestigious beauty contest to be held in the country during her reign. "To be honest, I want the Miss Universe pageant to be held abroad because I want to travel sana," said Ganados during an interview after she was presented as the newest ambassadress for Blue Water Day Spa at Florabel Restaurant, Estancia Mall in Pasig City July 31. Gazini was reacting to rumors that the Miss Universe 2019 pageant might be held in Manila for the 4th time in January 2020. Earlier there were reports that the pageant would be staged either in South Korea or Dubai. But other reports said that it might be held in the Philippines once again. Former Miss World Megan Young debuts as a mentor in personality and public speaking skills for Empire Studios world-class workshop series. Young will talk about how training for the international stage helped her step out of her comfort zone and transforming helself to who she is today. "My module for the workshop is almost complete," said Young during a press conference held at the Empire Studios at BGC in Taguig City. The one-day only workshop will be held on May 25. Young also said that she invited her younger sister actress Lauren Young to be part of the workshop. It's time for Filipino men to shine in pageants abroad. Filipino-American model Jeff Langan won 3rd runner-up at Manhunt International 2018 contest during a competition held in Gold Coast, Australia last Sunday, Dec. 2. Vicent Llorach of Spain edged out 32 other candidates for the prestigious modelling title. Other winners were Australia, 1st runner-up; Netherlands, 2nd runner-up; and Vietnam, 4th runner-up. Started in 1988 by Alex Liu in Singapore, Manhunt International is the world's most recognized and longest-running international male model competition. Langan, 25, started modelling when he was still a child. "My mom got me started on my first commercial for Long Beach Memorial Hospital when I was a baby,” says Langan, in an interview for Fashionably Male photoblog recently. Beauty pageant guru Jonas Gaffud has said that he is excited to launch his first book anytime in June. "Reading the manuscript. So excited for this. Never imagined that I'd have a book. Thank you ABSCBN publishing. Launching this month of June 2017 :-) This is for you, a beauty queen in the making," said Gaffud on Instagram. The book is entitled "The Crown: The Journey to be a Beauty Queen." Miss Universe 2015 Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach has been appointed UNAIDS Goodwill Ambassador for Asia and the Pacific. This was announced by Jonas Gaffud, mentor of Wurtzbach, on Instagram today, May 3. "Finally it's official. Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach is now the UNAIDS Goodwill Ambassador for Asia and the Pacific," Gaffud said on his IG post. The uploaded photo showed the Filipino-German beauty queen signing the official letter with Steve Kraus, Director of UNAIDS Regional Support Team, Asia & The Pacific. Wurtzbach has been at the forefront of the campaign for AIDS since she became Miss Universe. The fight against AIDS is one of the major advocacies of the Miss Universe Organization.
