No Sharon-Gabby movie project in 2017

The much-awaited reunion movie of megastar Sharon Cuneta and former husband Gabby Concepcion is not happening this year.

This was announced by Cuneta on her official Facebook page.

Cuneta, 51, apologized to her fans for the shelved project.

"Thanks for all your prayers and I am sorry it's not pushing through," Cuneta wrote.

But the megastar said that she is excited for a new movie project under Star Cinema.

"But please be happy for me -- because I am very happy with my new project which Star Cinema is now preparing! God bless us all. Good night and love you guys!," Cuneta said.

In December 2016, Star Cinema announced that Cuneta and Concepcion were doing a movie together.

Observers believe that Concepcion would not commit to the reunion movie because he is  also busy with his popular afternoon teleserye "Ika-6 Na Utos" on GMA 7.

The still untitled reunion project was supposed to start shooting in January and a tentative showing month in May.

In the 1980s, the tandem of Cuneta and Concepcion was a blockbuster on the silver screen. They first appeared together in "Dear Heart. Their other films together were "P.S. I Love You," "My Only Love," "Friends In Love," "Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin?" and "Sa Hirap at Ginhawa."

The last time Cuneta and Concepcion appeared together in a movie was way back in 1992 for "Tayong Dalawa."

Cuneta and Concepcion got married in 1984. They have a child KC Concepcion. But the couple separated in 1987.

Cuneta is married to Senator Francis Pangilinan in 1996 and they have three children.
