'Sabon Depot' opens its first branch in Metro Manila
With authorities advising people to self-quarantine during the COVID-19 pandemic, it is no surprise that some personalities in the pageant or fashion world have chosen to pass the time by opening a new business.
The duo of Jerome Malate and Concon Sinel ventures into a new territory as they open the first Metro Manila outlet of a franchise called "Sabon Depot" on A. Bonifacio Avenue in Marikina City.

Jerome and Concon are the same team behind the ongoing “Best of the Islands”international fashion show in North America and Europe tour and “Asia Pacific Fashion Week” in Los Angeles this year. Both their careers in the live events industry are on hold because of the health crisis.
"Sabon Depot sells inexpensive cleaning and disinfecting products for homes and institutional clients: liquid detergent, antibacterial hand wash, dishwashing liquid, car shampoo, bleach and toilet cleaner. Sabon Depot is also a 'refilling station' where used product bottles are refilled at a much-reduced cost," said Concon in an exclusive chat on Sunday, July 12.
Concon assures consumers that all of its disinfecting products are hospital-grade, that’s why even the Department of Health is among Sabon Depot’s chief clients.
Joey Corpuz
"Our anti-bacterial hand soap has added moisturizer, which makes it gentle on skin. It's 100 percent pure, and has 10 times better protection against germs and viruses." says the popular fashion director.
Sabon Depot is the Philippines’ newest and emerging franchise, specializing on cleaning products for home and industrial use. It’s fast growth has seen multiple branches cropping up across Central Luzon.
The Sabon Depot CEO, Joey Corpuz, is a former Territory Manager for Mead Johnson Nutritionals and a former professor of a graduate school program.

Corpuz started with a single branch in his home province of Tuguegarao 9 years ago. His key partner is Mellany Zambrano, a live events producer who heads MediaBiz agency (and is now tasked with Sabon Depot’s marketing and branding).
"The business is growing so fast, there are 30 stores opening this month, due in large measure to the marketing efforts of MediaBiz," says Corpuz.
Celebrity franchisees of Sabon Depot are TV host and OWWA Deputy Administrator Arnell Ignacio, who is set to open five stores in Cainta; and Prince of Ballad Gerald Santos, who is set to open stores in Malabon and Batangas. - Robert Requintina
