Super Tekla: 'I never thought bingo is a gambling'

Stand-up comedian Super Tekla has finally broken his silence on rumors that he was into gambling and illegal drugs which allegedly forced him to leave the popular game show "Wowowin" on GMA 7.

"Nagbi-bingo ako. I never thought na that its gambling. Kasi di ba sa mga fundraising mayroon namang bingo," said Super Tekla during an interview on GMA News "24 Oras" recently.

On illegal drugs claims, Super Tekla said: "Ano ang reason ko bakit pa ako babalik dun? Kasi alam mo ba ang taong nagda-drugs or if you're intoxicated ng drugs hindi ka makakapag-isip nang maayos, 'pag once naka-drugs ka, lutang ka eh. Pinagdaanan ko na 'yon."

Super Tekla, who is Romeo Librada in real life, blasted netizens who questioned him on social media. "Suutin niyo muna yung sapatos ko para malaman niyo ang pinagdadaanan ko."

The comedian has not been seen in the popular game show for almost two weeks until he finally bid goodbye to his fans.

Super Tekla has still refused to reveal the true reason for leaving the afternoon daily program.

"Yung nangyari sa 'Wowowin' parang wake-up call sa akin na mayroon akong dapat sigurong baguhin sa sarili ko," he said.

Super Tekla said that he would always be fully indebted to Willie Revillame, host of the game show, who offered him to be part of the show in September 2016.

"Nami-miss ko yung 'Wowowin" of course minahal ko 'yon, sobra. Kuya [Willie Revillame], never akong magtatanim ng sama ng loob kasi lahat ng binigay ko sa akin though not financial, inaani ko na siya, sabi ko nga hindi na ako mahihirapang magsimula," he said.

Super Tekla also said that he would remain a Kapuso. "Never, alam mo ako yung tao na napakasimple kumbaga yung salitang-utang na loob." - ROBERT REQUINTINA
