Tarlac beauty wins Mutya ng Pilipinas evening gown tilt
Sandrianne Esquilona of Tarlac was adjudged Best in Evening Gown in the Mutya ng Pilipinas 2017 preliminary competition held at the Alta D' Tagaytay in Tagaytay last July 28.
Esquilona wore a creation by Rian Fernandez during the preliminaries with the theme flowy gowns in shades of blue.
First runner-up was Janie Alipo-on of Navotas and Ilene Astrid deVera of Cebu finished 2nd runner-up.
Special awards were presented to Alipo-on, Mutya Hotel 101 Manila; Angela Carla Sandigan, Mutya Alta D' Tagaytay; Lian Enumerable, Mutya Rain-or-Shine Jaila; and Eunice Ragindin, Mutya ng AR Travels.
Newly appointed Mutya ng Pilipinas president Hemilyn Escudero-Tamayo paid tribute to local designers who always take part in the Mutya ng Pilipinas beauty pageant.
"A designer is a soulmate of a beauty queen. So please don't stop creating gowns for our lovely Mutya ng Pilipinas beauties," said Tamayo, during welcome remarks.
Some members of the board of judges include famed fashion designer Albert Andrada, fashion guru James Cooper, former Mrs. Universe Philippines and Vice Mayor of Pola in Mindoro Jennifer Cruz; Mutya Ng Pilipinas Leren Mae Bautista; ABS-CBN correspondent Mario Dumaual; the head of Alta D' Tagaytay Bernie Corpuz, photographer Lito Sy, etc.
