Dr. Mario Guiang Jr: The dentist is in!

Meet the county's hottest dentist - Dr. Mario Guiang Jr.

Dr. Guiang has a killer smile and a body to-die-for which is considered desirable to many. But it's never easy to achieve this kind of physique as it takes so much effort, discipline and hard work. I sat down with him as he shares simple tips that will really inspire people to attain sexy curves and healthy lifestyle.

"I go to the gym five times a week in Tarlac. I work out for two hours. When it comes to food, I don't eat rice anymore. I eat lots of fruits. I also take supplements. I drink occasionally but I don't smoke," says Guiang, who was awarded one of the Most Empowered Men of 2017.

Guiang, 45, considers celebrities Piolo Pascual and Brad Pitt among successful men he look up to. But beyond physique, being sexy means achieving your goals through determination and will power, he said.

After graduating in Centro Escolar University in 1996, Guiang acquired further studies in the University of Illinois, USA and other prestigious institutions in Asia and Europe. His thirst for knowledge has led him to continue taking his MSc in Periodontics.

Being a known expert in his field, Dr. Guiang was able to do a series of lectures at the Academy of Laser Dentistry, USA. His exceptional performance as speaker in the 15th Euro Dental Congress in Italy has made him co-chairman of the said conference.

"My entry for the Zerondonto Excellence in Prosthodontics helped me a lot (and) I would like to share this award to my Zerodonto family to inspire others to join and be empowered dentists," Dr. Guiang says, when his research was chosen as the country’s entry in an international competition.

This opportunity has also earned him comprehensive training under famous dentists in the USA and Europe. Now he is named as one of the best in neuromuscular and laser dentistry in the country, Italy, China, Macau, Singapore and the UAE.

One of Philippines Outstanding Men of 2018, Guiang has an 8-year-old son Justin who is his source of happiness these days.

"I try to be a perfect father to him. We bond together a lot. I go to his school affairs to show support," adds Guiang. Just recently, Guiang and his son arrived from a much-needed vacation abroad as a gift to his child.

These days, Dr. Guiang is currently making a stand to eliminate illegal practice of dentistry especially now that do-it-yourself (DIY) braces are vastly sold online. He approached the city government of Tarlac to help him disseminate information on the harmful effects of DIY braces.

Guiang has guested on CNN Philippines which opened a platform of information regarding the harmful effects of DIY braces.

"The best thing to do is to visit your dentist to avoid diseases which you may encounter through the practice of DIY. Your dentist still knows best," adds Guiang, a member of Dentists Against Dental DIY which advocates the harmful effect of the oral microflora. - ROBERT REQUINTINA
