New group to empower women in business, community, and environment

A new group centering on empowering women has been launched to increase their role in shaping policies and incubating ideas in business, community and the environment.

Led by former beauty queen Carla Cabrera, the new movement dubbed "World Women Leading Change Philippines" (WWLC PH) is expanding its presence in the Philippines. It was founded by Dr. Ayla Aldjufrie in Jakarta, Indonesia in 2018.

"World Women Leading Change is a movement that empowers leading business women to lead, change and give impact to their families, work field, community, environment and industry," said Cabrera, President and Co-founder of WWLC Philippines, and founder and Chief Branding Strategist of Creatio7 Asia.

"WWLC PH will mobilize women entrepreneurs from various industrial sectors, countries, organizations and backgrounds, all of which presented access to global market to expand their business network internally and create vast new opportunities globally by sharing information, knowledge and expertise," she said.

Cabrera added: "The launch of WWLC-Philippines will further strengthen the foothold of women empowerment in the country as well as continue the original goal of the organization in inviting “business women and woman entrepreneurs to be at the forefront in leading the change on various parts of life especially in the field of business and entrepreneurship."

The WWLC PH was launched at the World Leadership Conference "Adapting to the New Normal" via Zoom Cloud Meeting recently.

At the Zoom meeting, Cabrera urged all women to seize the moment and turn it into a beacon of hope in advancing the crucial part women will play in the so-called “new normal”.

The conference discussed how the world would tackle the “new normal” moving forward without sacrificing the great leaps in innovation, arts, well-being, science, business, mental health and other facets of personal development we have achieved in recent years.

Cabrera said: "The new normal will reveal another layer of your identity. Embrace. Seize. Rise above it". Women will see themselves playing an integral part in shaping the new normal. Part of this is through recognizing the power they hold in society and the many industries fueling the world economy."

Some of the individuals who served as speakers were: David Charlton, CEO of David's Salon (Philippines); Jamie Getgood, CEO and international speaker, Getgood Consulting (Australia); Dato’ Dr. Siva Ananthan, CEO LTT Global Consultants (Malaysia); Melody Del Rosario, President, Metro Pacific Investments Foundation Inc.
