Arielle Agasang to showcase techno fashion in 'Ako Ay Filipino' charity gala
Popular Filipino haute couture designer Arielle Agasang is set to make another splash in the fashion world as he will showcase his latest collection in "Ako ay Filipino" charity gala which will be held at the Centennial Ballroom of the historic Manila Hotel on June 13.
At the press preview held at the Sampaguita Room of the Manila Hotel last Feb. 27, Agasang said that the event will also pay tribute to the most influential personalities of the year.
Agasang said that the event aims to raise funds for the reconstruction and improvement of the infrastructure, service facilities and other sacred spaces of Our Lady of Assumption Parish in Lavezares, Northern Samar.
"Kapag umuulan at may mass, tumutulo ang ulan sa loob ng simbahan. Through this charity event, maipapagawa na namin ang simbahan," said Agasang who got emotional during the open forum of the program.
Agasang thanked Kapamilya stars Angel Locsin, Vice Ganda and Vhong Navarro who have earlier lent their assistance for the reconstruction of the church. "Saludo talaga ako kay Angel Locsin sa tulong na ginawa niya sa amin."
Asked if the event has a target amount to be raised, Agasang said: "I don't want to be ambitious. But I am sure maraming tutulong to make this event a success."
Agasang, who has dressed up political and showbiz personalities, said the benefit show will honor diverse and dynamic businessmen, doctors, filmmakers, sports figures, movie and television personalities, musicians, sports figures and members of the diplomatic community.
Produced by Agasang A1 Entertainment Productions, the fashion charity event will commence with a red carpet walk, and a heavy cocktail at 6:30 p.m. It will be followed by the fashion show and awarding ceremony at 8 p.m.
The charity event will feature the stunning haute couture collection of Agasang which will be accompanied by splendid production numbers and entertainment from country's world-class performers and artists.
Agasang describes his current collection as techno Philippine fashion which is elegant and wearable.
The Filipino fashion designer who was formerly based in Los Angeles, California counts international designers Emmanuel Ungaro, Dolce and Gabbana and Coco Chanel as his inspirations in fashion. - Robert Requintina/With images by Edmund Ong Chua
