'Angels' Dream' to grant wishes of 800 Aeta children

CLARK FREEPORT ZONE, Pampanga --- Beauty queens and other groups led the launch of the Christmas project dubbed "Angels' Dream" that will grant the wishes of some 800 Aeta kids here.

"From 300, 600 and now we are granting the 800 wishes of Little Angels. We are thrilled on how our partners, employees and guests support this breakthrough. With this program, we all can be a heaven sent and we can be a blessing by giving," says Midori Clark Hotel and Casino General Manager Vic Chan, during the media launch of the Christmas project.

The highlight of the event was the hanging of wish cards, wherein kids hung up their wishes into the establishment's giant Christmas tree. Officials say among these simple wishes of the kids include toys, shoes, clothes, etc. The gift-giving ceremony will take place on Dec. 18.

"This tradition symbolizes the wishes and dreams of the kids which will be fulfilled by the heaven-sents or the employees, subsidiaries, sponsors, and guests," says Chan.

Aside from the kids who attended the Christmas tree lighting ceremony, the groups will also visit schools in Sapang Bato, Sitio Target and Monicayo, Haduan, Calapi, Macapagal, and Marcos Village to grant their wishes.

Among those who assisted the kids in hanging up their wishes on the Christmas tree were reigning Miss Midori 2018 Jasmine Omay and her court Emma Mary Tiglao and Elaiza Dee Alzona; Carolina Uy, of the Department of Tourism, Region 3; and company officials Simon Jiang, Bong Alvaro, Manny Aure, Edgar Lim; and James Lee.

During the first year of the holiday project in 2016, about 300 wishes from Aeta kids were granted. Double the number from its first year, 600 dreams came true in 2017, adds Chan. - ROBERT REQUINTINA
