Beauty queens raise funds for charity



Former beauty queen Mitzie Go-Gil, national director of Mrs. Queen of Hearts and Mrs. Asia Pacific Philippines pageants, led some beauty pageant winners in raising more funds for the victims of Taal Volcano eruption in Batangas City.

"Ang dami pang kailangan mga biktima ng volcano eruption sa Batangas. Hindi pa tapos ang laban," said Gil, during an interview at the Queen of Hearts Foundation, Inc. Dance-for-a-Cause held at Hilton Hotel, Resorts World Manila in Pasay City last Feb. 16.


Other queens who joined the event were Mrs. Asia Pacific Global 2019 Avon Morales, Mrs. Asia Pacific Philippines Worldwide Llena Tan-Arcenas, Mrs. Asia Pacific Philippines Cosmopolitan 2019 Mary Chris Abacahin-Camacho, Noble Queen of the Universe Patricia Javier, who also won Star of the Night; Mrs. International Universe 2019 Lovely Gervacio Tajan; Eren Noche Tumali, organizer of Mrs. Noble Queen pageant, etc.

In January, the Queen of Hearts Foundation, Inc. team distributed relief goods to the volcano eruption victims temporarily sheltered at the Alfonso Central School in Cavite.


Also, 11 candidates of the candidates for Mrs. Queen of Hearts 2020 pageant graced the successful event.

Gil said that the complete line-up of official candidates will be presented to the press in March.


The contestants will vie for seven crowns during the finals: Mrs. Global Universe Philippines 2021, Mrs. Worldwide Philippines 2020, Mrs. Asia Pacific Global Philippines 2020, Mrs. Asia Pacific All Nation Philippines 2020, Mrs. Asia Pacific Tourism Philippines 2020, Mrs. Asia Pacific Intercontinental Philippines 2020, and Mrs. Asia Pacific Cosmopolitan Philippines 2020.

Gil appointed Rosenda Casaje, a nurse with two kids in Bulacan, as the country's official representative to the Mrs. Global Universe 2020 in Singapore in March.


"I am not nervous but I am so excited to represent our country in Singapore. This is my first pageant ever," said Casaje, after her crowning moment in the same occasion.

Gil said that the Queen of Hearts Foundation, Inc. was established to assist poor children thru feeding/scholarship programs and construct a shelter for abandoned, abused and homeless children; help sectors thru medical/dental missions and food assistance programs particularly to victims of natural calamities; and empower women through their talents and abilities. - Robert Requintina
