Daniel Matsunaga admits dating Arci Munoz

Following his break-up with actress Erich Gonzales, actor-model Daniel Matsunaga admitted that he is going out with actress Arci Munoz.

But Matsunaga pointed out that he and Munoz are just friends, during an interview on "Tonight With Boy Abunda" on ABS CBN.

The Brazilian-Japanese hunk made the reaction following rumors that he and Munoz were playing sweet music together.

"Kaibigan kami. Ye's she's really gorgeous. She's mabait. Lahat nasa kanya. Kaibigan kami as of now," Matsunaga said.

"Actually we hang out as a group eh. But as of now kaibigan kami. What happens sa mga performances namin ('I Can Do That'), siguro that's why people related both of us. Pero relax lang kami. That's funny kasi may kontrata kami eh," he said.

"We were hanging in one of my restaurants and they we were talking abut life, lovelife and then everything. Then we came up with an agreement," said Matsunaga.

The athletic star also admitted that he was really heartbroken in the past.

"I was brokenhearted pero ngayon I'm OK na. Nag-move on na ako," he said.

Matsunaga said that he is not allowed to fall in love with Munoz because of a binding agreement to stay single for at least six months.

"We came up with an agreement to be single for mga six months. Focus muna sa work. That's two months ago. Siguro mga ganun. So may time pa yan," he said.

Matsunaga, 28, added: "May penalty 'yan. Hindi ko alam kung pwede ko sabihin."

The actor was previously in a relationship with  Gonzales. They broke-up earlier this year but refused to divulge details of their split.

Asked if he was a faithful boyfriend to Gonzales, Matsunaga said: "Yes naman."

Despite the break-up, Matsunaga and Gonzales remained friends. They both starred in the popular morning series "Be My Lady" on the Kapamilya Network.

The former sweethearts said that there was no third party involved in their separation. They added that money was not also the cause of the fallout.

These days, Matsunaga said that he is busy with his food business and will soon venture into real estate.

"I have three restaurants. It's called National in BGC, a South American restaurant; Sobre Mesa, South American-Filipino restaurant; and Healthy House in Makati City, healthy food delivered to you," he said.

He added: "I'm investing in buying a land in Brazil and here also. I want to put up buildings." - ROBERT REQUINTINA
