26 bets vie for Mister & Miss Culture World 2017 pageant



Twenty-six candidates will compete for the third edition of Mister and Miss Culture World pageant which will be held at Teatrino in Greenhills, San Juan on Thursday, May 25.

There are five representatives from the Philippines which is the host country this year. They are Al-Hakam Reggie Dimalanas, representing the Philippines; Al Mario Lara, of South Central Mindanao; Rico Paolo Rono, Rizza Paula Infante, and Honey Leth Ventura, of Central Luzon.

They were presented to the media during a special show held at Icon Hotel in Timog, Quezon City last May 18.


The male candidates: Azwan Gaspar, Borneo; Rommel Farinas, Canada; Sanjit Singh, India; Yodie Indra Widhanie, Indonesia; Jusrin Dulandin Elias, Malaysia; Auung Myo Thu Ya, Myanmar; Kaung Htet Wai, Myanmar; Sajesh Tamrakar, Nepal; Joshua Luke, Singapore; Tawan Taradolratrnakran, Thailand; amd Mike Tran, Vietnam.

The female candidates:  Fiana Esther Balon, Borneo; Diane Razon, Canada; Aishwarya Agrawal, India; Yuka Yamamoto, Japan; Debra Jeanne Poh Xen Mei, Malaysia; Khat Wai Mo, Mynamar; Yoon Ya Ti Oo, Myanmar; Manashwi Kharel, Nepal; Piyakorn Sukarasot, Thailand; and Tran Ngoc Tram, Vietnam.


Founded in 2014 by Saidali Abdilla Jr., the pageant aims to promote culture and its preservation in a global stage.

The first and second editions of the contest were both held in Kota Kinabalu in Sabah, Malaysia.

Previous winners for 2015 are Arnepha Abdusalam of the Philippines as Miss Culture World and Mashoor Awang of Malaysia as Mister Culture World.


Reigning winners are Bob Royo of the Philippines as Mister Culture World 2016 and Hnin Wutyee Win of Myanmar as Miss Culture Wold.

"What makes our pageant unique is that more tan our candidates physical attributes, we give importance to their personality and advocacies," said Abdilla, chairman of MMCWI.


Royo said: "My year as Mister Culture World 2016 has been fulfilling and inspiring. I am very proud and happy that I was able to show the world the best Filipino culture by means of helping people in need."

Royo also said that he was able to link his newly formed foundation dubbed "The Panulat Pangarap Foundation" to Mister and Miss Culture World, Inc.
