Why Daryl Ong is on cloud nine these days
Kapamilya singer Daryl Neilsonn Ong is on cloud nine these days after he finally met his son Dwayne for the first time in almost four years.
"Nakita ko yung anak ko sa States. Nahiram ko sya," said Ong during an interview on "Tonight With Boy Abunda" on ABS CBN.
"Akward nung una kasi yung four years na yun hindi kami nakakapag chat o nakakapag usap," said Ong.
Ong, 30, said that he and his partner are now civil to each other.
The Kapamilya singer also described his meeting with his son as "priceless."
Ong also recalled how his friendship with Vice Ganda started.
At the same time, mas nakita ko naman yung seryosong side nya. Nakaka-kwentuhan nya ako sa mga relationships nya," the singer said.
Ong said that he appreciates his friendship with Vice Ganda because they trust each other.
Ong started to sing when he was around 6 years old. His mom works for their church choir and it was in the same church that he learned and honed his skills.
The first song he ever learned was Mr.Pure Energy's "Shout for Joy."
Before he became a singer, Ong was once a cartoonist for a locally-produced animation.
Ong said that he joined The Voice of the Philippines for two reasons: to share his talent to the country and to reach out to his son who he said was secretly brought to the US. - ROBERT REQUINTINA/TEMPO
