Sweethearts Megan Young, Mikael Daez talk marriage

Miss World 2013 Megan Lynne Young has admitted that she and her boyfriend Kapuso star Mikael Daez have been discussing marriage for several years now.

"We've talked about it for several years already. S'yempre matagal na kami. So hindi mo maiiwasan na hindi pag usapan," said Young, during an interview on "Tonight With Boy Abunda" on ABS CBN.

"For us, the way that we handle our relationship, we wouldn't get into a relationship if we didn't see each other being each other in the future. Of course, we always hope for that. And you work harder each day. Kasi yun ang gusto mo at the end of the day," Young said.


Young and Daez have been in a relationship for almost seven years now. But she said that they are low-key when it comes to their relationship.

"Yung pagiging low-key namin at first it was because of work. Dahil may ka love team sya nung nag start sya, gusto kong irespeto yun at gusto nya irespeto na magkaiba kami ng network. Nasa ABS ako at sya nasa GMA nung time na yun," she said.


Young said: "And then when I did Miss World, parang napagusapan namin sige we'll keep quiet about it na lang. Kasi yung focus ko is yung work ko as Miss World. And ako I didn't want to intrude in his life and his family's life. Even with my family ko sabi ko low key lang tayo."

Young also said that she would pursue an acting career in the US after she signed up with one of the talent agencies there.


"It's an agency in the States. Ang gagawin nila run para sa akin is tutulungan nila ako sa mga workshops ko kasi ang maganda nun naka sign ako sa kanila. Automatic Screen Actors Guild member," she said.

Young, 27, has just signed up with Innovative Artists Agency. She is the first Miss World titleholder from the Philippines. Before she became an international beauty queen, Young has appeared on several teleseryes and local movies.

"So yun yung bagay na naging sobrang swerte ako. Dahil dun nakakalibre ng workshops daw. So yun ang plano ko. Pang acting talaga," she said. - ROBERT REQUINTINA
