Beauty queen Giselle Barrion to launch radio show on human resources



Newly crowned Mrs. Tourism Universe 2019 Giselle Barrion will launch her own radio show that will tackle the human resources industry on January 5, 2020.

Dubbed “HR PILIPINAS,” Giselle will team-up with her husband Ryan Barrion in the weekly radio program that will be aired beginning Sunday, Jan. 5, 2020, over DwDD 1134 khz AM from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. or Facebook live Katropa DwDD-CRS Virtual RTV.

"This is the first program on media for human resource professionals to be hosted by actual HR practitioners.  In this program, they are going to talk about talent management, organization development, rewards and recognition, labor relations, employee engagement and human resources," said Giselle.


This not the first time that Giselle will venture into the airwaves. Previously, the beauty queen hosted “Oh My GAD!” a segment of the Gawad TANGLAW Jury Awardee weekly radio show “Voice of the Teachers Multimedia” in DwDD 1134 kHz AM Katropa Radio. 

Giselle has also appeared in several TV and radio shows as resource person for people development or soft skills such as in CNN Philippines’ ‘Newsroom Ngayon’, DZMM Teleradyo’s ‘Sakto’ and  ‘Salitang Buhay’, TV 5’s ‘Perfect Morning’, Radyo Veritas’ ‘Veritasan’, PTV’s ‘The Medyo Late Night Show With Jojo A’ among others.

Gee, as she known to her peers, is one of the recipients of Philippine Empowered Woman of the Year 2019 and Outstanding Corporate Training and Organization Development Consultant in the Philippines conferred by RDH Entertainment Network and Best Magazine at the Music Museum last March 13.


She is also one of the awardees for “The 2019 Distinguished Thomasian Alumni Awards (5th Year).  She was honored along with other famous alumni of the University of Santo Tomas (UST) who excelled in their respective fields – Miss Earth 2017 Karen Ibasco, Miss Universe 1999 1st runner-up Miriam Quiambao, TV host Julie Yap Daza, former Senator Kit Tatad, among others.

Giselle is a human resources consultant, corporate trainer, motivational speaker, and founder and chief empowering officer of Great Learnings and Beyond (GLB) Management Consultancy Services.  Prior to full-time consultancy work, she used to be a Human Resources Account Manager, and Organization Development and Training Consultant of a major telecommunications company, and Group Training and Development Manager of a renowned four-star hotel and real estate company.

In terms of academics, she finished her Master in Business Administration degree (cum laude) from the University of Santo Tomas Graduate School.


Currently, she is a PhD in Organization Development candidate at the Southeast Asia Interdisciplinary Development Institute (SAIDI) School of Organization Development.  She is also a Certified Management Consultant® as certified by CMC Global.

As a facilitator and consultant, she has designed and conducted numerous customized programs related to HR-OD, Strategic Planning, Teambuilding, Values & Culture Building, Leadership, Effective Business Writing, Customer Service, among other modules.

Giselle is also the author of “YOU CAN DO IT! The 6 Keys to Personal Development (A Guidebook for People at Work)” published by Central Books last year.  This book is currently available in all outlets of Central Books and St. Paul's nationwide.



She is the first Filipina to win Mrs. Tourism Universe 2019 and won other special awards such as Best in National Costume 1st runner-up and Mrs. Gusto Vegetable Drink.

Giselle is the founder of “The Brave and Beautiful Warrior” a project for the benefit of those who experienced hair loss due to alopecia or chemotherapy and “Lapis at Kwaderno Para sa Kabataan” which aims to help the less fortunate children to never stop believing and achieving their dreams for God’s glory.
