Aiko Melendez still not on speaking terms with Jomari Yllana

Actress Aiko Melendez has said that she and former husband actor Jomari Yllana are still not on speaking terms these days.

"Sila ni Andei kahit papano, they talk. Kami naman ni Jom, kahit papaano, hindi kami nag-uusap," said Melendez, during an interview on "Tonight With Boy Abunda" on ABS-CBN recently.

"Ganyan s'ya minsan. May mga sapi s'ya na ayaw n'ya akong kausapin," added Melendez, in reference to Yllana.

Melendez was married to Yllana from 2000 to 2003. They have a son named Andrei, now 18.

After she separated from him, Melendez tied the knot with Jickain in 2006. They have a daughter named Marthena. They separated and their marriage was annulled in 2010.

Melendez, 41, also said that Yllana's girlfriend has nothing to be jealous about her.

"Hindi mo ako gusto ipapa-good job kita. Joke lang. Nagbibiro lang ako," said Melendez, as she laughed about her initial answer to reports that Yllana's new girl was jealous of her for unknown reasons.

"Nagbibiro lang ako. Pero wag n'yo na ako pagselosan. I've heard about it but I don't know if its true. This is the time I will assure her that of all people, it's not me. It shouldn't be me," the actress said.

Melendez appears in the new Kapamilya afternoon teleserye "Wildflower" with Maja Salvador in the lead role.

The veteran actress said that she was impressed with Salvador.

"I've always wanted to work with her because I want to believe that in her generation right now. she's one of the best. Very sensitive. Napakasipag na bata. Masipag mag-aral on the set. Pati continuity ng nails n'ya down to her shoes alam n'ya. Kaya sobrang husay ng bata. 'Yan ang actor," Melendez added.

Melendez also said that she is still ecstatic over winning the best supporting actress trophy at the 15th Gawad Tanglaw Awards for the movie "Iadya Mo Kami."

"Every time I accept an award, it's like a new baby to you," she said. - Robert Requintina/TEMPO
