Miss Universe titleholders Pia Wurtzbach and Catriona Gray shared emotional posts on Instagram moments after Congress denied a new franchise to major broadcast network ABS-CBN on July 10.


"For the disheartened. For the hurting. I am so sorry. For those who delight in the suffering of others, I pray your hardened hearts be softened. We continue on. But we will never forget," said a card posted by Gray on Instagram July 10.

Wurtzbach posted: "Home. Forever Kapamilya. And when our children tell our story. They'll tell the story of tonight."


Both Gray and Wurtzbach are contract stars of the major networks. The ABS-CBN network was also the broadcast partner of the Miss Universe Organization in the Philippines.

Wurtzbach was crowned 2015 Miss Universe in Las Vegas, Nevada while Gray won the 4th Miss Universe crown for the Philippines in Bangkok, Thailand in 2018.
