Search on for Aliwan Digital Queen 2020

You could be the first Aliwan Fiesta Digital Queen 2020!

The search is on for Aliwan Fiesta Digital Queen 2020. It is open to ladies 16-28 years old, single, with pleasing personality, and must have been born biologically female.

Candidates should be well-versed in the culture, customs, and traditions of their respective regions. Each contestant must be able to demonstrate a unique talent to a high degree of excellence, either in the visual or performing arts, craft or design, athletics, or culinary expertise. The candidate should be a natural beauty, armed with poise and confidence, and able to express herself well in either English or Pilipino.

"This will be a title distinct from Reyna ng Aliwan, which will continue to be part of the mammoth festive convergence which ties together the country’s tourism efforts, but which was cancelled this year due to the pandemic. Despite the lockdown that the country is currently observing, the hopes and dreams of beauteous and talented Filipinas will be kept alive by MBC, which will allow them to dress up, strut their stuff at home, and wow both the judges and the general public in a highly entertaining event for everyone, true to the mold of Aliwan Fiesta," said Susan Isorena-Arcega, MBC PR consultant.

Carrier stations will then conduct their offline selection based on the judging criteria, and forward their chosen entries to the MBC head office secretariat by August 21. Each station will submit only one entry. The MBC panel will then trim down candidates to nine finalists (three each for Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao) -- who will be formally announced on August 28.

Guided by MBC’s digital media team, the finalists will then take part in three weekly segments come September – Pride of Place, the Talent Show, and the Modelling Competition, where they will also be grilled by the panel of judges.

All these segments, including the coronation night, will air over DZRH News Television, and will be posted on all social media platforms of MBC, including the respective pages and YouTube accounts of their stations – DZRH, Love Radio, Yes The Best, Easy Rock, Aksyon Radyo, and Radyo Natin.

The Aliwan Fiesta Digital Queen 2020 will receive P50,000; the first runner up P25,000, and second runner-up P15,000. The winners’ chosen charitable programs in their respective municipalities will also be given the corresponding amounts.

The other six finalists get a guaranteed P10,000 each as consolation prize. Online polls will also be conducted for special awards to be given by sponsoring brands.

Those interested should download, fill up, and submit via email the registration form posted on the official Facebook page of Aliwan Fiesta to the carrier station in her region, together with a barangay certification, and a 3-minute video, where the candidate introduces herself, where she comes from, and provides a glimpse of what she looks like in casual and formal wear, as well as her special “talent”. Deadline for submission of entries is on August 16. - Robert Requintina
