'Heartless,' says Anne Curtis-Smith on denial to grant new ABS-CBN franchise

Kapamilya star Anne Curtis-Smith has described as "heartless" the decision of some people in power to shutdown major broadcast network ABS-CBN which would affect some 11,000 employees.

"I really don’t know what to say. I’m sorry that those who were in position to do the right thing chose to be heartless. I’m so sorry," said Anne on Instagram July 18. She accompanied her emotional post with an art image of a girl hugging a sad boy who represents the broadcast network.

The "It's Showtime" host was not able to join the noise barrage on Saturday but informed her friends and colleagues at ABS-CBN that "I see your posts here on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter and my heart breaks along with you."

Her complete post:

"I still cannot fathom how those in power could let this happen... I mean how is allowing a company to shut down and people losing jobs they love, a solution to what already is a crazy time?;

"How do they sleep at night knowing that because of their decision, people are now suffering from sadness, anxiety, panic and are just scared for what will happen next? 💔

"I really don’t know what to say. I’m sorry that those who were in position to do the right thing chose to be heartless. I’m so sorry;

"I may not be there physically to stand with you, as some of you know I am not there and have a little one to look after.... but know with all my heart I stand with you and share your sadness;

"Love your Stephanie, Imang, Dyosa, Celine, Dyesebel and your crazy bunso Showtime host, Anne;

"Isang mahigpit na yakap. #KapamilyaForever."
